Get Your Family Ties Quilt Kit in Gridwork! from Busy Hands Quilts

I've teamed up with Christa of Christa Quilts to offer quilt kits of Family Ties in her Gridwork fabric collection!  The fabric and pattern mesh so well together.  The kit includes all fabric for the quilt top and binding in the Throw size to make this exact quilt.  :)

This past 4th of July weekend was spent whipping up a Family Ties Throw quilt in the bright and fun Gridwork fabric collection.  This quilt is headed off to a program a distributor is organizing, and the deadline to have the quilt in the mail was only a week after I ...

Family Ties Quilt Kit in Kindred Blossoms! from Busy Hands Quilts

Family Ties has been kitted by Connecting Threads in the beautiful Kindred Blossoms fabric collection!  This is the Throw size.

I mentioned in a previous post that I am on a kick using darker fabrics as the background, and this quilt is no exception.  This is a deep indigo.

Family Ties is a quick jelly roll friendly quilt pattern that is strip pieced.  You know how much I ♥ strip piecing, because life really is about making more quilts!  The quilt pattern includes 6 sizes - Baby, Lap, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King - true ...

Chrysanthemum Quilt {Finished Quilt} from Little Bunny Quilts

I am so excited today to show off my finished Chrysanthemum quilt!

This is my June Island Batik Ambassador project -- I used fabrics from the Primo line by Ebony Love for the piecing and solid white batik for the backing. I used stash builder strips cut in half for the binding.

For the quilting, I used a peach Aurifil 50 wt. thread in both the top and bobbin. I obviously used a crysanthemum motif for the free motion quilting!

I am pretty resolved that this year there won't be a QAL given that life has been crazy busy but ...

Chrysanthemum Quilt Top {June Island Batik Project} from Little Bunny Quilts

This month's theme for the Island Batik Ambassadors is more of a lack of theme! This month we were given free rein to make whatever our quilters' hearts desired!

For my project, I decided to finish a secret sewing project that I had started way back in March! This is the first block that I finished:

One of the reasons this started as a secret sewing project is that I originally planned (and maybe still plan?) for this quilt design to be a quilt along project and potentially a mystery quilt along project. With 2020 being the crazy year ...

Skyline Divide Throw Quilt - the Flower Sugar One from Busy Hands Quilts

I have a new one for you!  I'm so excited to tell you about the new Skyline Divide quilt pattern.

This fabric is Flower Sugar by Lecien, which I had in my stash.  A few weeks ago I had a dream about these exact fabrics, so I pulled them the next morning.  I had two coordinating polka dot pinks that matched perfectly.  My rule of thumb

Summer Breeze Quilt Pattern in 5 Sizes! from Busy Hands Quilts

Summer Breezes are coming!  I've a quilt pattern ready for you - it's Summer Breeze!  The pattern includes 5 sizes - Baby, Throw, Twin XL, Queen, and King.  This pattern is fat quarter friendly - just grab FQs in a single colorway, add two accents, and Go!

Do you see the subtle chevron design?  Chevrons were so popular a few years ago, so we'll call this the updated chevron version!

This quilt is made with blocks which makes getting those HSTs pointed the same direction a little easier.  By adding a step to make blocks rather than laying out rows ...

Custom Rainbow Pixelation Throw Quilt! from Busy Hands Quilts

Pixelation is a striking rainbow quilt pattern that is entirely strip pieced for a quick finish.  The quilt pattern includes 8 sizes - Placemat, Mini, Wall Hanging, Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King - with the squares growing larger as the quilt sizes increase.  You can get this pattern in my shop right here.

This quilt was made as a custom order, and my client chose the exact colors she desired from the Moda Grunge fabric collection.  These mottled, grungy fabrics take a solid color to a whole new level of fantasticness!  She chose a kelly green for the backing and orange ...

Grandpa's Barn in Ombre Bloom Throw Quilt! from Busy Hands Quilts

Grandpa's Barn meets modern Ombre Bloom for a truly sparkly quilt!  This quilt is made from 19 different fabrics, but it looks like a lot more because they are ombres in varying hues.  Ombre for the win!

Grandpa's Barn is entirely strip pieced and is jelly roll friendly, so grab your favorite strips and get ready to roll!

The quilt pattern includes 5 sizes - Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King - and centers around the traditional barn raising layout.  You could, of course, lay out the blocks in many different layouts for a totally different quilt.

Simple Squares {Finished Quilt} from Little Bunny Quilts

Today I'm excited to show off my finished quilt for our April Island Batik Ambassador challenge! Our theme was "creative borders and bindings".

As an Island Batik Ambassador, I am provided with samples of various lines of Island Batik fabrics, Aurifil thread, Accuquilt products, and Hobbs Batting to use and share with you!

My quilt is made entirely of 4.5" squares cut from Island Batik stash builder rolls and 4.5" strips of black solid batik to break up the inner 64-patch from the pieced outer border.

I also used the same black solid for the backing and ...

Meet Adeline, a new star quilt pattern in 4 sizes - Throw, Twin, Queen, and King!

Adeline is a big block quilt with several designs created when the blocks are joined together.

Don'tcha love the floral fabric?  Oh my, it makes my heart sing, and I had to have it when I first saw it.  It's Country Fair from Connecting Threads.  All fabrics except one in this quilt are from the collection, and all are from CT.

While you don't see Flying Geese in very many of my quilt patterns, this one called for them in order to ...

Card Trick Throw Quilt! from Busy Hands Quilts

This is Card Trick - another finish from 2019 that hasn't been featured here on the blog!  This is made with a layer cake of Shelburne Falls by Denyse Schmidt.

This is a pattern I designed for Bluprint.  They kitted it as quilt kit in Witchcraft which you can see right here.  Maybe you'll see it as a quilt kit in another Bluprint fabric collection at some point.

This is a layer cake quilt pattern that goes together fairly quickly.  In order to have all of those squares for the border, the layer cake isn't simply cut into ...

Rosewood Lane Quilt Pattern Update! from Busy Hands Quilts

It's Rosewood Lane's turn for an update!  Last year most of my pattern covers were updated, some patterns were also overhauled inside, and I'm down to the last few needing updated.  Now there are only three pattern covers awaiting updating - Home Awaits, Picket Fence, and Falling Stars.

Joyce of Liberty Green Quilt Shop in Akron, Ohio has been a consistent wholesale customer of my quilt patterns.  She requested printed copies of Rosewood Lane after seeing the Rosewood Lane in Anna Maria Horner fabrics that sold in my quilt shop last year and requested an AMH quilt for ...

Granny's Square Patch Throw Quilt in Tula Pink! from Busy Hands Quilts

Granny's Square Patch in Tula Pink is another quilt I made last year but didn't blog about.  I used ultra modern Tula Pink fabrics in this quilt to show that an old fashioned design and modern fabrics can meld quite well.

In keeping with the modern fabrics, I chose a hexie quilting design, though even a feathery design would have looked lovely as well.  Sometimes choosing a quilting design is paralyzing and you've just got to just jump in and GO or it will never get done.

This lovely blue/purple circular design was found in the ...

Calliope Throw Quilt in Annie's Farm Stand! from Busy Hands Quilts

I'm finally getting around to showing you the rest of the quilts I made last year that I didn't blog about.

I've introduced you to the pattern which Connecting Threads kitted in Maison Rouge fabric, but I haven't shown you the quilt I made to test the pattern.  This is Calliope!

When I first sewed this quilt top, those bold polka dots said HELLO a bit too loudly to me, but now I think their boldness is lovely.

I went out on a limb in choosing the red thread for quilting (I usually choose a blender ...

Hip To Be Square -- Times Two {A Piece Of Blog Hop} from Little Bunny Quilts

Today is my day on the A Piece Of blog hop with Island Batik, showing off their new fabric lines, shipping to stores now!

The line of fabric I was assigned was "Little Sir, Little Miss"! This fabric line has a whopping 40 different prints!

Instead of trying to squeeze all 40 prints into a single quilt, I decided to split the prints up into two quilts! I used our fast-and-fun pattern Hip To Be Square for these quilts!

For the first quilt, I used the black and tan numbers print for the background with the neutral and warm colored ...
