Announcement, Announcement, Announcement... from Pamela Quilts

I wanted to get this post up earlier, but had some distractions going on here today.  So better late than never, I wanted to make the official announcement that I am one of the 2019 Island Batik Ambassadors!

I was so excited to hear the news earlier this month, and even more excited to see not one, but two shipping notices for packages headed my way!  I made an unboxing video, and I have to apologize for the really weird lighting.  It was a super rainy day so I had to use my dining room and the lighting was definitely ...

2018 Reflection from Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

Boy another year just quickly flew by, especially the last half of this year.
Seeing how I hadn't written in two months I have been reflecting on how this year went and what I would like to see in 2019.

I have come to realize that turning 60 this year really effected my
mental state.  Never though it would. Thinking about what I wanted in this stage of my life was overwhelming. Actually for the last part of this year I became melancholy. But with time and lots of contemplation, I have work my way through it.

Thanksgiving Giveaway! from Tea Rose Home

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I last updated my blog. I posted a few things on Instagram in the last few weeks, because it is much easier to shoot a picture and post it with my phone, but the truth is that I wasn't in much of a mood to do any social media after the surgery. I wonder if I was going through a mini depression of sorts. The first couple of weeks after I came home, I stayed in bed most of my time and either slept, read, or watched TV ...

quiltiness . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

So far it's been a quiet week quilt-wise ... still haven't gotten into the Nook to 'fix' my challenge piece.  Hopefully on Friday I will be able to get to that!  We have Meg Cox, quilt journalist and author of The Quilter's Catalog, coming to speak at our guild meeting on Thursday evening (I'm really excited ... I've blogged a bit about Meg here).  Her book was one of the first quilting books I purchased, and I read it cover to cover, it was SO good! If you haven't ever read it, it's definitely worth ...

Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Calendar from Curlicue Creations

For each issue of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks, Quiltmaker sends a little thank you gift to the designers and block testers.  In the past they've sent big buttons, mugs, mouse pads, aprons, and tote bags.  This time it's a calendar.  The cover has a wonderful photo of all 100 blocks ~ isn't that fun?

Whoever put together the months did a really nice job.  Each month features a block theme that coordinates with that time of the year.  My "Grow a Little Love" block is featured in February, along with a bevy of Valentine and red blocks.  So ...

Thankful and Goldie from I Have A Notion

I was going to post about Goldie today, but on retrospect I decided to post a Thanksgiving note. And on second thought I can do both. I have so much to be Thankful for. I am Thankful for a fabulous worldwide network of friends that keep me entertained; and I am Thankful for a wonderful network of Quilters and Crafters that visit the store and occasionally a sale, (hope there will be more of
