It's been a busy sewing week with lots of progress on several projects. I also received some squishy packages in the mail today. The first package contained my Modern Guild Make a Mini, Make a Friend swap quilt from Anne L in Texas. A Variety of Projects from The Cozy Quilter

I spent quite a bit of time this week working on my Modern Quilt Guild "Make a Mini, Make a Friend" swap quilt and I am very pleased to be finished. It is ready to put into the mail to my swap partner in Texas. I will be mailing it after the London Modern Guild meeting in February so that I can bring it for show and tell. Here is a sneak peek of the backing and binding as well as some of the quilting which I did with my walking foot on my DSM.

MCKMQG basket swap from Ellyn's Place

A little catch up post here! In the fall, the McKinney Modern Quilt Guild had a basket scrap swap. We've done these scrap swaps before, with baskets and pillows (twice!) and they are fun! Each participant brings a ziploc bag full of her own scraps. Then we fill out information sheets, how you'd like to use your basket etc. and we swap bags. Modern Swap Blocks from The Cozy Quilter

Sorry I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks. I have been doing lots of sewing but it has almost all been secret sewing which I can't share here yet. I have also been working on blocks for a swap and since I finished them today, I decided to show them on my blog. I have participated in Barb's modern block swap three times now. The first year, we made broken dishes blocks with red and another solid colour.

About Swaps from My Stitches-Shilpa

This year i haven't had a lot of chance to get together with my sewing machine. Various personal reasons apart...the only thing that is keeping the needle in my hand these days are swaps. The mini quilt swaps mean i could easily juggle my other priorities with sewing. I began with the Home Sweet home Mini swap for which i made an embroidered mini quilt for my partner.

Broadway Mini Quilt Swap from The Sarcastic Quilter

I participated in another mini quilt swap (I'm doing it a lot lately) and the theme was Broadway. Our partners (still a blind swap so we don,t know who is making for us) used our sign up forms and our IG feed for inspiration on what Broadway shows we liked and our personal tastes.
