CLEAN SWEEP from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

How did your clean-up go around your sewing machine? I know that some people have accepted the challenge and have sent before and after pictures. I know I won't have time to post them today, so they will have to wait until tomorrow, and hopefully, we'll have a few more pictures to share. I think it's a fun (and necessary) exercise to clean up and deal with things. The most essential factor there is DEAL with things. It has taken me years to be accountable for the messes I've created and to DEAL with the things ...

The dinner table from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I don't know about your households, but DH and I are on our own for breakfast and lunch. I make my own breakfast and lunch, and usually eat it at the computer, or sometimes lunch at the table reading something. The other day, I even ate lunch at the table in the office (aka the dining room). But dinner is reserved for face to face conversation.

We chat about books and interesting articles that he finds in the newspapers. And there seem to loads these days on people finding a hobby. All they have to do is pick up ...

A tour of Studio U from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yes - I got photos for you today. A full tour of Studio U. I haven't been sewing a lot up there - there isn't even a sewing machine at the moment, but on some of the nice sunny days, I hope to move up! And speaking of the sun? Where has the sun been hiding? There was some sun yesterday when I went for my walk, but it's been pretty cloudy lately!

Did I get my e-mail woes solved? No. That was after spending two hours on the phone with Microsoft. At least the support person got my ...

Tick tock from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

When I refer to Tick Tock, I don't mean the program/app or whatever it is that people are watching these days. That's so funny as I used to be a TV junkie. I watched hours of TV every day. All the reality shows, comedy shows, and talent shows. I was addicted to the darn thing. Now there are all these subscription services and streaming services, and I have NO clue about any of them. New shows? Talent? Trends? No clue.

And you know what? I'm perfectly OK with that. I do watch some stuff on You-Tube ...

How small can you go? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Don't hate me! But this quiet time has been a HUGE boon to my mental well being and wrapping my head around my quilting stuff. I've been the most productive for the longest period that I've ever experienced and I can only hope that this is going to continue once things get back to normal.

There are a couple of reasons for this increase in productivity.

1. I lucked out in the gene category. I spoke to my Dad yesterday. He's going to be 87 in a week or so. Is he bored? Is he watching ...

Production is on the rise at my house from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

As I was working yesterday, I was contemplating my UFO situation. I realized that I have two kinds of UFOs. One is projects that are actually started and I guess qualifies as a true UFO. The other projects sitting around are those that have all the fabric purchased with a pattern (or not) and need to be started. They need to be stored separately. In some cases, those "kits" need to be disassembled and everything put back in the stash room!

I'm going to start with the REAL UFOs. I did take an empty box upstairs (oh yes - some ...

Fireside Retreat Day One from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Ah - there's nothing like great weather for a drive up north to the retreat house. I'm not sure how many retreats I've been on, but a LOT over the last 10+ years. We're now up to FOUR retreats per year. Isn't that obscene? Well, one of the reasons I like retreats at Fireside Retreat House is that the price is extremely reasonable. Over the years, we've decided that a weekend was NOT enough. Then we added a day. That still wasn't enough and now our retreats are five days/four nights. That's ...
