Of grandsons and jeans and hurricanes from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Just dumped on the table, there doesn't seem to be much sewing, but he had five pairs!
 

Our grandson Lane, came for a visit last Friday. You know what they say, "They only come when they want something"? Well, it's sort of true. He gave me a hug, after informing me that he needed some jeans hemmed. Sure. Not a problem.


Let's see, clean and thread the machine, put in a new, extra-heavy duty universal needle (twice), replace the rotary cutter blade or at the very least sharpen it, spend 45 minutes cutting and sewing new ...

Wait. What? July 7th from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories


Already? The last week has flown by. I'm not really sure when I slept. 

I'm kidding, of course.  There has just been so much going on. First, my very sad news is that our sweet little Cottontop, who has been my constant companion for over 17 years, went to puppy heaven last Wednesday. It's extremely sad to miss him so much, but he was getting in pretty bad shape, blindness from glaucoma, painful hips, confusion. I am happy that he is no longer suffering. Repairs from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Rory dropped off a couple of items that needed some work. First, the girls' uniforms needed belt loops. I didn't have any of the plaid and the navy that is closest to the one one the uniforms is definitely not a perfect match. 


It's not about perfection, though. It's about following the rules and the rules say belt loops are required. 


The other item that he left is this pair of shorts which needed a button replaced. I was searching the pockets for the old button in case he had kept it and discovered two buttons sewn ...
