a weekend of quiltiness . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

What a lovely weekend!  It was filled with a lot of quiltiness. For one thing, I've been very diligent about getting in at least fifteen minutes of  'quilting' in each day.  Whether it's hand-work or sewing or shopping or designing or organizing in the Nook ... I've been very successful in hitting my goal and actually exceeding it on most days, which is very exciting to me!

Thursday kicks off my weekend (we work four, ten-hour days), and Thursday evening I did a little more embroidery sketching and then spent some grand time with the girls!
This little ...

2019 Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival from Dueling Threads

Shout out to those looking for a fun, fiber filled Saturday in Kansas City.  Saturday, June 15, is the last day of the Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival.

2019 Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival Info

I was able to break away and visit on Thursday and Friday late afternoon / evening.  The quilts, both in the juried and guild showcases are fantastic and sure to give you ideas of technique and style.   I think there are 18 guilds and over 100 sponsors / vendors participating this year!  It is really a showcase of talent, skill and beauty.

Participating guilds are there with ...

Guild Fun Plus from Stitchin at Home

I am sitting here staring at my screen trying to decide if I have anything to blog about. What have I been up to quilting wise? Well let's see. I went on a mystery shop hop with my guild, always fun. We car pool and in our vehicle we had a blast. All the laughing and sharing with like minded quilters a JOY. This year we were to wear a quilters hat hmmm. I had never heard of a quilters hat, time for a little creativity. First off I am not a hat person not a good way to ...

Shop hop from Making A Lather

Recently, we had a shop hop in Kokomo, and these are the quilts I wanted to remember for inspiration.
This is a pattern from Crimson Tate in Indy. They are waiting for the printing of the pattern. I was a huge fan of John Denver and this was a quote from him.

Sheepies in wool are so cute, and I love the lamp made from an old sewing machine. Maybe my husband can figure out how to make one for me. LOL

I still have homespun, and recycled shirts, this could be fun....

And, of course, this is my year ...

Hello Monday from Butterfly Threads

Hi there! It's me again. Sorry for disappearing on you all last week I have some good excuses, so here goes...

My kids were home from college for Spring Break! They didn't all have the same week off but it did overlap for one weekend and we went to Six Flags for the opening day. We had a wonderful time and rode roller coasters and laughed and ate way too much crappy food.

We also went out to dinner a couple of times and took in some movies and generally just 'hung out' around the house. It ...

Stitching on... from Quilting Lots Moore Designs

in this very hot weather.  We had 35 C yesterday and I'm afraid we just huddled inside with the air conditioning on.  It has never been my thing - hot sunny days at the beach.  I'm an autumn, spring sort of girl and don't even mind winter that much.  Mind you, compared to some places our winters are very mild.

I have managed to do a little stitching though, and have all the blocks made on the Craftsy BOM 2013.  Now just to figure out how to put it together and what colour joining strips I'm going ...
