shoofly from Making A Lather

Yesterday, I shared about digging through triangles, to find candidates for the shoofly block. It has helped increase my shoofly blocks in number. So has making blocks for frolic mystery quilt. While I am piecing a frolic block, I can get 3 shoofly blocks finished.


I have decided I am not spending a lot of time on pressing these until, I know how they will join together. That way I can be sure seams will nest. Shoofly is a free pattern at quiltville.blogspot.com for this year's leader/ ender challenge. They finish at 4 inches, I think ...

this and that from Making A Lather

I had one of those sewing mornings, that I just couldn't figure out what to sew. I was in a funky mood and everything sounded blah. So I pulled out some oldies that are basically leader ender, until, I decide what else to do with them.
I used a bloc loc template set to make a few of the these blocks.



I sewed a few tumblers together.


I made 3 shoofly blocks.


And for added measure, I sewed two florabunda blocks.


And, then, I felt so much better.
