Getting Ready for More Mosaics on Off the Wall Friday from Creations - Quilts, Art, Whatever by Nina-Marie Sayre

After much angst,  I did manage to come up with a photo for my upcoming Timna Tarr's Stitched Mosiac class.  Good thing too since it starts on Monday morning!  I did do a lot of research, but ultimately I took the easy way out and bought a picture from IStock.

Points that lead to this choice

  1. It has the same joyful theme that Tessa's Mosaic does so it will form a series
  2. The color palettes will be similar
  3. No faces to obsess about
  4. Hands that I know how to do
  5. Landscape orientation

You see, somewhere in my research ...

Creating Limits on Off the Wall Friday from Creations - Quilts, Art, Whatever by Nina-Marie Sayre

Woman with Folded Arms, Picasso
I wanted to say a big thank you for all the lovely comments last week.  I'm still working my way through the hop.  It's so fun to see what everyone is doing! Also, I'm still smarting about the fact that I didn't catch on to the theme "Get on Board with Sewing".  It really isn't a bad idea to set "limits" or

New Project Fabric! from From Edge 2 Edge

The American Presidents series from Queen of the Unfinished Projects...

So, approximately a million years ago, I decided that I should read more American history. I was reading quite a bit of English history at the time, mostly the Tudors, and I felt that I needed to learn more about the United States. So I went down to the bookstore and got a biography of George Washington. Seemed like the way to get a good overview of the country was to start at the beginning and follow through all the presidencies. And then, after about 75 pages of reading, I got distracted by some other book and Georgie went onto ...

CONNECT WITH GOD RELATIONALLY from Quilt in Piece

Today is the start of a prayer series. Something new that I am trying on the blog. This one will run for 7 days, and is based on the Lord’s Prayer. THE LORD’S PRAYER The Lord’s Prayer is often recited in churches or at religious events, but there is so much more to this prayer. Jesus provided this model as an outline to teach us how to pray in a way that connects us to God and empowers us to accomplish great things through Him. This model takes us through each part of The Lord’s Prayer ...
