Spring Fling quilt from Charm About You

I'm so lucky that I get to have SO MUCH FUN creating designs with bright and beautiful fabric. For this quilt I picked out prints from Zuma by Tula Pink and a range of colours from Tula Pink solids.  A classic block in the centre and medallion style borders made with a mix of regular machine piecing and foundation paper piecing, make for a modern and dynamic quilt. If you grew up in the 1980's, it was inevitable that as a little girl you would end up becoming obsessed with the Disney movie, The Little Mermaid.  I remember when this cartoon movie came out, all the other little girls at school also loved the main character,  Ariel who was a gorgeous, red-headed mermaid. We would all have "singing contest" at school and would compete to see who had the "best mermaid voice." Sunday Quilt Inspiration: Sea Glass from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Several weeks ago, I discovered a few 
bags of sea glass in the studio. I used them to decorate a pot of succulents. After doing so, I realized how much I love the colors. 

The light blue/green is my favorite and I've decided to use it in our bedroom and bathroom. We'll be quite some time before getting to the stage of choosing paint and accessories, but I think I have my colors already.

Coastal Calling: Mediterraneo Fabric Collection from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

A few years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to experience the Mediterranean coast and visited the village of Positano in Italy. For those of you who have traveled to this region or are planning a visit, this place truly awakens all of the senses.
