Sunday Chat from From My Carolina Home

Coming home from our adventures in Virginia, the tomato plants were prolific in our absence. The day we left, I gave all I had at that time to my neighbor for her help watering my plants while we were gone. This basket was collected the day we got back, and a few went on salads for dinner the next evening. There are dozens more on the plants yet to come.

So I told you something fun happened while we were at the quaint little roadside motel in Luray. Looking down at the lovely row of flowers, I noticed something on ...

Pardon me, has anyone seen my marbles? from From My Carolina Home

I was sure I still had them, but apparently I had lost them. They were certainly missing when I got a phone call from a dear friend in a bind. The person in charge of publicity for our guild’s Garden of Quilts show called my friend and quit a few minutes before my friend called me. That day was also the day before the committee meeting. She was desperate. As the show chair she needed someone to fill that job immediately. As she pleaded for help, how could I say no? I do have a bit of free time ...

Sh*t my Mother Sends Me from Where Art & Life Meet

In keeping with the sh*t-my-mother-sends-me theme since this pandemic hit all of us broadside, forcing us to become bit players in a sci-fi film we didn’t know was in production, here’s the latest from my mother. Thanks Mom! ❤️ (Don’t know what I’d do without this woman…) Can we all just marvel at the sheer… Continue reading Sh*t my Mother Sends Me

Painting Rocks from Becca's Crazy Projects

A couple years ago I picked up a bag of rocks and some craft paints. I painted a few rocks and then nothing for a while. Saturday I decided to watch a couple YouTube videos and dab paint onto rocks.
I had to mix a couple colors because I don't have a great selection. I do have the primary colors and black and white. I mixed up that pink.
That somewhat heart-shaped one wasn't really the direction I wanted to go but that's what I ended up with. Once I get a coat or two of lacquer ...
