Quilting and Visiting from From My Carolina Home

It has been a very busy week, with a lot going on. Settle in for a long and chatty post. Starting on Monday, I worked a shift sorting and preparing the quilts from the Mountain State Fair to be returned to their owners. We folded up the quilts and arranged them in alphabetical order, stacking up quilts going back to the same quilter. Some, like me, entered several quilts. Christmas Bells 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

When we were growing up whoever was up first on Christmas Day, and old enough to use the gramophone, would play a record of Christmas carols starting with the sound of bells. I now have that record, and a record player, for use on Christmas morning.

Even if that plan failed I have backup copies on CD and USB, so no one will sleep in at this place. I will even make sure the battery operated USB player is fully charged in case of a backout!

A little trip to Paris last week. And for me, going to Paris means visiting and shopping at La Droguerie, my favorite haberdasher's shop. They have their own production and dyeing of great quality yarns. In this wonderful shop you can find quilting fabrics, Liberty fabrics, all sorts of threads, buttons, beads, ribbons... as well as catalogues with their great patterns for children or adults.
