Following the Flowers from ... Cat Patches

There wasn't much time for sewing yesterday. I spent a little extra time on the hand quilting, and then I spent quite a bit of time outside in the garden. Sunday was supposed to bring rain, and then didn't. So the watering and weeding was off by a day. I needed to do some catch-up on things, and so the bulk of my time was spent there. Here's what's going on in the garden right now.

First, I'm getting so excited for the cherries. Fingers crossed we get to harvest some this year.

Fabulous Flowers from ... Cat Patches

Smitty was so excited about the break in the rain yesterday, he sat with his nose pressed against the glass waiting for the doors to open. Surely there are more squirrels for hunting...or gophers. Anything small with fur makes his day.

It was a busy day for everyone yesterday. Mike and Matthew were busy setting up new cabinets for Mike's shop. When we moved in here more than 18 years ago, Mike installed cabinets in his shop. They weren't cheap, but they were cheaply made, if you catch the difference. They didn't hold up well to ...

Picture Perfect Day from Cat Patches

It was the first day of good weather in weeks. We've had a few sunshine breaks here and there, but no real warmth, and lots of rain for at least two weeks. While I wanted to get on with making the polaroid picture block for the newest Shop Hop quilt, there were lots of things I wanted to accomplish outside too. So, I first took a little walk around. I wanted to show you this picture of the landscape, and what I really want you to notice is the big Weeping Fir tree on the right hand side.

Whine One One from ... Cat Patches

Do you ever have a day when things don't go right, and you're tempted to get back in bed and pull the covers over your head? And let me just tell you...cats are no help at all.

It isn't true that nothing went right. After all...I finished the stitching on the second Snowflake.

This morning, I'll try to get the beads sewn on it, and then it will be ready for rinsing and pressing.

After that, we panicked a little about where Mike was parking his truck. We were in a site that had ...
