Presentation Day Among Other Things from Quilting My Way

This is another one of those days where I started out slow, picked up the mood all afternoon and then came home to end up slow.

I headed over to the museum to work on setting up for the presentation we were doing today. We honored my cousins husband and Debbie's cousin today. It was awesome and I would love to show photos, but it was their wish that we not take photos for posting. I can show the quilts however.

This quilt was given to Debbie's cousin. She had this waiting for him. He's active duty ...

Presentation Day At The Museum from Quilting My Way

This morning I was playing before having to get moving. I left around 10:20 am. Headed over to the church to pick up my quilt that was finished. Then I headed over to the museum to get everything going. I worked on setting up for the veterans. When Debbie showed up, we worked on getting the quilts out and set up. Waited on Heidi to show up so we could figure out what order to put them in. Had to clean the coffee pot, since they hadn't done that from the last time. Got the snacks set up ...

Quilts Of Valor Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Today Patrick was golfing and I was at our QOV presentation.

We honored 4 veterans today with quilts.

Edward Smith, Coast Guard, James Wheeler, Navy, Robert Knapp, Air Force Reserve, and John Mervyn, Air Force.

Edward Smith and his quilt.

James Wheeler and his quilt.

John Mervyn and his quilt.

Robert Knapp and his quilt.

After that, I was going to my car. Couldn't find my keys. OH GREAT! They were in the car. Then I turned the car over - nope. Dead battery. And of course everyone left. So, I had to find someone to jump me. I looked ...

Quilts Of Valor Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Today was our day to honor more Veterans. We had the honor of honoring Dennis Lampert, US Coast Guard and USAF Reservist, Duane Fuehr, Coast Guard serving in Vietnam, and Bob Menegleini, Coast Guard.

Honoring them was a pleasure. They were a "kick" and fun to honor.

Bob Menegleini received a quilt made by Debbie.

Debbie and my mother were presenting the quilt for him.

Duane received this quilt. I'm not sure who made this one. We did have one of the quilts made by Stitch 'n Peace, who often donate quilts to honor veterans with.

He was a ...

Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Today I just wasn't in the mood to do crafts. I've pretty much been playing games.

When I woke I was ready to send a letter to blogspot for removing my posts. I didn't have anything "false" or "misleading." I read the rules of what would be removed when they came out with the information. I had replied to one of the removal notices and told them I don't write false information and Patrick's cancer is REALITY. So, last night I woke at 2 am and was thinking of what I would write to them ...

GOT MY VACCINE TODAY from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick took off to golf. I stayed till about noon. While I was home for a couple hours, I was able to get 2 rows in on the Snowman! I was so happy to get that much done!

I'm so excited to get started on the deer. I can see a small spot for the deer's ear. I'm really looking forward to working on the deer. I just had to get a couple rows in today. While I was working on the rows, Sharon M. called and needed some backing and batting for a quilt ...

Quilts Of Valor Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Today I was moving slowly. I was waiting to go to the museum for presentation day. I was looking forward to getting back to doing presentations.

Before I left, I received a box of goodies for the Goodie Bags. BE Seminar will be fun with all these goodies.

Phebie's Needle Art from CA sent this for our Seminar. I love all the color combinations she has for everyone. There are 3 skeins of Ed-Mar floss in each bag, along with the business card. I can't wait to see everyone's response.

We started at 1 pm.

First group ...

One Of The Days Where I Took Out More Than Put In from Quilting My Way

This morning I woke to Katt being gone. I knew she was leaving. She texted around 11:30 am that she was home. It's a good 7 hour drive. She needed to leave today because of the roads on the passes. The weather stations said today was the best day to get over the passes before another wave of bad weather comes in.

I sat and tried to work on my beading. I ended up taking out 2 rows of the box. Then Faye texted asking me where one of my quilts were for Shawn. I thought I had ...

QOV Presentation Day - AND VETERANS DAY from Quilting My Way

This morning I needed to get moving. The Veterans Memorial Museum was having a Parade at the museum. So, I needed to get to the museum before the traffic arrived. - OR so I thought!

Arrived early - about 10:30 am and enjoyed the time with my group. We were wearing masks today because of all the traffic. We ended up using the room upstairs which helped keep us away from the visitors to the museum.

We were able to give this quilt out to Robert Moore. He looks so young! And yet he's about 45 years old. I thought ...

QOV Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

What an honor it is to honor our veterans. I just love being a part of Quilts of Valor.

This morning I was able to get everything ready to go. I left early to pick up cookies at Safeway. While I was there I got some ice tea to take with me.

I arrived at the museum to find Smiley there. I gave him a notebook full of our veterans who are listed to receive a quilt. Then I headed to the back room to get help with setting the chairs out. We were presenting quilts downstairs in the museums ...

Finally! QOV Presentation.....And Beading..... from Quilting My Way

This morning I was keeping busy before heading to the museum to give a QOV presentation. We awarded a quilt to a 90+ year old man. He served in the Air Force around the time my dad served. I was surprised there were 12 people there for his award. No masks. Don't understand that part. He ware the mask, but others didn't.

Came back home and worked on a couple games. Then I wanted to get moving on getting the hangers done on the Wild Birds piece.

Sharon showed me how to attach this to the back. I ...

A Quilt of Valor Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Today was presentation day for Quilts of Valor at the museum. We had 4 recipients with one being a WWII Veteran.

This is Tom Smiley, Bill Logan, Dale Gocken, and R. Scott McCrosky. They were all awesome! Dale Gocken was the WWII Veteran.

He was an honor to give a quilt to!

He got a little emotional. He loves his quilt!

Tom Smiley is Jim Smiley's brother. It was such an honor to see Jim honor his brother with this quilt.

I love being able to honor our Veterans! We won't be doing a presentation again till May ...

Presentation Day! from Quilting My Way

Today I was ready to go to the museum early. I wanted to get there before our veteran arrived - if he didn't get my letter. I was at Staples getting card stock for certificates when Sharon called to ask where I was. I explained to her I was on the way - she is new and wanted to see what we were doing.

I arrived at 10:35 am to find both Sharon and our veteran waiting for me. I explained what was going on with the time change and explained I had sent a letter to him. Asked if ...

WWII Dinner At The Museum from Quilting My Way

This morning I slept in. I do believe I got Patrick's cold. I'm not doing really bad, but I do feel it. My voice is going. My noise is running but other than that, I'm good.

I worked on my beading and was able to get a few more rows done before I left for the WWII Dinner at the museum.

It's usually packed, but it wasn't as packed as in the past. More of our WWII veterans have passed on. We did have a good turn out though. This is the line for dinner ...

Quilts Of Valor Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Today I was all set for the QOV Presentation. I left early and was thrilled to see Ethel there. She helped me out by getting things ready for the presentation.

We had good attendance. I was surprised at how many people came but at the same time thrilled we had a good turnout. A couple of them came from Oregon to see the presentation.

We were able to give away 4 quilts today.  From l-r, James Wilverding,  Jerald Brugger, Rick Roberson, and Glenl Wear, Sr.

They were all awesome! All of the served in Vietnam. It was an honor to ...
