What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

This morning, I was up and not ready for the day to start. I did get moving though because I needed to get to the museum for our presentation. 

First, I needed to get my rugs from the bathroom into the washing machine, since I got water on the one while in the shower. Then I started putting the ornaments on the tree away. Patrick had asked the other day, and I wasn't in the mood to keep it up, since I hadn't been in the spirit last year. I also got busy on getting the stuff ready ...

Today I needed to get a few Christmas cards out. I still need to do a few more. As I was writing my cousin Cindy's card, she sent me a text wishing us a Merry Christmas.  Too funny how we tend to do that with each other.

This morning I picked up some hot/cold pads for Patrick.  He hurt his back and is having trouble moving around. Then I picked Debbie up to go to our meeting.  

Our group had a good talk, I believe.  We went over a lot. It ended up being 2 1/2 hours. I think we can move forward in a good way. I need to do somethings to keep the group up on what's going on and they need to do more as well.

Came home to find my box of beads waiting for me.

I got up, took my walk around the neighborhood.  Was able to get 5 laps in before I need to pick Debbie up. We had an appointment with Chip and Sam at 10 am. We stopped first to pick up our drinks.  

 Patrick was gone when I got up. He went golfing.  

I headed to the museum for our presentation.  We had a good turn out with 3 active duty members getting their quilts.  The other active duty gentleman couldn't make it. So we did the guy that was given to Mt Rainier to award. Good thing Cindy was there. She even help present pins to Vietnam Veterans.  

 Patrick went golfing. I went with Debbie to check our stack of quilts. We spent the morning going over our quilts, cleaned up our area in the museum and got the pillowcases stacked by white or off white.  We put the raffle stuff together.  It worked out great. We then figured the 2 quilts that the Mossyrock group said they needed. Waiting for her to get back to us.  Picked up 3 quilt tops that were dropped off.

Came home and cut the backing and batting for all three. Debbie took one to quilt. Will get Colleen to do the ...

 This morning it felt good to sleep in and little. I did some cleaning and picking up. Then went walking. 

While I was getting my walk in I had to make phone calls to fix a mess with our group.  I believe it's solved but not sure.  Time will tell on this.

Then it was time to head to Olympia for yet another doctor appointment.  This time it was my oncology appointment.  My mammogram was Tuesday and the good news is there wasn't any sign of cancer. Now I am scheduled for another 3 month check up. After ...

Today was our presentation day. It went great. We gave 6 quilts out to 6 veterans that are firefighters.  We even had a visitor that is the leader of Mossyrock.  Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to her.

We had one veteran ask that no photos be taken.  We honored his wishes.

Came home and my washer was in and running.  Patrick did 2 loads of laundry. 

This morning Patrick helped me get set up for the QOV quilters.  I was getting worried when the hadn't arrived by 9:50 am. Once one arrived they started coming in. We had 6 of us today.

Gail is a member and first timer. It worked out great. Connie,  Kristi,  Val and Gail sewed in the room with the fabrics.  Debbie and I moved around.  I was cutting and ironing most of the day. Debbie made one block. Then she started helping me out. 

Of course I forgot to take pictures,  till everyone left. This is were they sewed ...

Was up and trying to get stuff ready for the quilters to come over.  I pulled some fabrics from the shelves before they came, knowing if I left them there they would be taken.  It's fabrics that Debbie and I use all the time. 

Mom arrived with lunch and Debbie arrived after with my tea. We pulled the stuffwe got for fundraising.  Then Colleen arrived and we got started. We gave mom the fabrics we pulled for her as well. We laid the fabrics out on the floor by colors.  Connie and Joanne arrived and they helped. Joanne got ...

 This morning,  Patrick loaded the car with the 18 quilts to go to the museum. I had everything ready to go.

Before leaving,  I wanted to get labels on the 2 quilts in the bedroom.  I went downstairs and sewed 3 labels. Came upstairs and got started. 

This morning, I needed to leave early for our meeting and presentation.  Patrick loaded up the car for me and I was on my way. I had to go to the fair today to pick up the tickets for everyone to get into the fair for our table. Then got stuck at the light and was 20 mins late. 

I passed out the tickets, we chatted about what needed to be done. Of course, they wanted more from me, so I now have one more job to do. I seriously wish I could pass some of this off on them ...

This morning, I walked with Ron, and we got 6 laps around the neighborhood. Then I had to hurry and get myself out the door to the museum.  I had to stop at Dutch Brothers first to get Debbie and myself a hot drink. - Yeah, I know, hot weather and buying a hot drink. Just couldn't help myself! 

Arrived and was needed as soon as I got there. Debbie was watching her grandson's game on the phone app. I was bringing the quilts in. lol We loaded the quilts into the museum and feel better about what we ...

I had Patrick take out the quilts to the car. I had 7 quilts going to the museum. Then I had 3 left behind. Debbie wasn't there today so Kristi was my second in command and it worked out great.

Today I was up and out the door with Debbie. We honored 2 Veterans today at the Woodland Village. They were ones that needed us to go to them. We don't do that often. 

This quilt was one that Georgie and Collen put together. It turned out great. 

This is Clarence Piper. He's a WWII Veteran and didn't want to have the newspaper involved. We were thrilled to have a quilt for him!

This morning, I was able to sleep in a little.  Thankfully Patrick put the quilts in the car for me. I felt like I was forgetting something when I left to the museum. Debbie had just arrived as well. She wasn't staying long because she was getting ready to leave for San Diego. 

We changed our dates for the next few presentations. We are doing good. We honored 7 veterans today. They were Paul Julian, Army, Philip Luhn, Army, Robert Jay, Army, Susanne Alexander, Navy, Robert Baker, Army, Shawn Downs, Army and Kevin Kuyl, Army.

 This morning, I woke after Patrick left for golfing. I woke to a dream where my younger brother had passed away. No one can go back to sleep with a dream like that. 

I ended up having to give TLC to Sophie as she meowed till I sat down. I played a few games and the Patrick got home. He was watching his "Love Boat" shows. So, I came in the computer room and worked on a few things.

 We had our meeting for the Veterans Memorial Museum QOV today. I had to get up at 8:30 to put in the lasagna that I bought for today. Then I was getting everything ready for the meeting. I was packed and out the door by 10 am. Had to stop at the post office and then again at Dutch Brothers. I got some drinks for Sam and Skip that work there. 

When I arrived I realized I left all 8 quilts at home. I texted Patrick and he told me we didn't need them anytime soon and it ...

This morning I headed over to the grange for our BE meeting. Sandy, Cindy, Jeannette and I were the ones who attended. We sat down and went over the seminar information. We picked classes we wanted to attend. Sandy and I will probably be taking a couple classes together. I figured out the costs, and wasn't too thrilled but I will be taking 7 classes, so I really can't complain about it. 

After that we had a snack for lunch. Then we came home. I was going to stop at Staples and pick up some label paper, but ...

 This morning I was working on what I needed to do. I had 2 Zoom meetings today. When I chatted with Debbie she said she could do the 6:30 pm meeting so, I decided to join her. 

After getting laundry started and working on getting blood out of my nightgown, I was able to get some laundry done. It took a good 3 washes to get the blood out. At least it's out because that's my favorite nightshirt. 

I then worked on my laptop to get my photos from the last 2 presentations. I needed to add ...
