I picked up this jelly roll on a whim.
I went back and forth on what to make with it. I finally decided on a jelly bean quilt.

Funny thing though, I was hoping to get a lap quilt as per the instructions. Instead, I failed on reading the directions and ended up with a wall hanging and a table runner. All because I had sewed the corner square on different corners. And noticed after I had trimmed the squares.

I used a new pantograph on the wall hanging, Calder.

And a fast favourite, Simplicity  on the table runner.

I ...

I won this FQ stack of Cotton and Steele a while ago. A looooong while ago. The fabrics aren't my taste but it doesn't mean someone else won't love them.

I used one of my favourite FQ patterns from the book Happy Hour quilts.
Super quick to make up.

Such fun prints.

I quilted it with one of my new favourite pantos, Knit1Purl2.

I used a grey grunge for binding which calms down some of the prints.

Now to find a lucky recipient.

Happy Monday!

Remember me?
It's been a long time hasn't it? Have to admit, I've struggled with blogging lately. I love blogging but blogging seems to be on the rapid decline. So many less blogs, less readers/followers. Is it worth it? For now, I think yes.

On to some fun stuff. And oh do I have things to show you!

I bought this charm square on a whim. And bought another. Randomly I sewed them all into HSTs and wondered what I am doing with these?

Can you catch my oops?

I do love how it turned out ...

Who doesn't love pineapples?
I love how this turned out, so cute!

I could not love this more.

I kept the quilting simple and stippled.

I need more of these in my life :)

And the blue binding.
Love.

Happy Monday!

More Christmas!

I made a few of these runners as gifts last year but I wanted one for myself that would be bigger. I finished it up in November and didn't actually get it quilted until Christmas Eve. And the binding didn't go on until New Years lol.

I absolutely love how it turned out.

And these fabrics.

quilted with HubbyLove

I went with a feather panto instead of Christmas.

And the black and silver binding....

And Gizmo likes it too.

Happy Monday!

First off, sorry for the terrible pictures. We went to a wedding in the wilderness and thought I could get pics of the quilt there but it was so dusty I didn't dare lay the quilt down or hold it up and risk getting it dirty. Now onto the quilt!

I made lots of quilts similar to this in 2018.
So quick and the simplicity works.
Sometimes simpler is really better.

The bride's favourite colour is yellow and I have a thing for yellow and grey. This could not have worked out better.

I used shadowprints to soften ...

Hello! Happy 2019!

I know fall was a long time ago but I found this runner hiding when I put away the Christmas decorations.

How cute is this?
I'm not a big halloween fan and yet this ended up in halloween colours.

These little pumpkins.

I kept the quilting simple and did a meander.

And spiced things up with a fun black print binding.

And had just enough of the pumpkin fabric for the backing.
I love when that works out.

Happy Monday :)

This is hands down one of my favourite quilt patterns. So much so that I have made 4 of these quilts this year lol.

The pattern can be found here on the Moda Bakeshop.
It goes together so quickly which makes it another plus.

I quilted it again with my current addiction Malachite.

The backing was a perfect compliment.

All the crinkly goodness <3 p="">

I know I'll be making this again and again.

Doing a little two for one today :)

I love making table runners. And love them more when I can use up scraps to make them.
Case in point, these two runners.

Years ago, I made a quilt using a jelly roll. Or at least started one. I didn't like where the quilt was going so I pulled the entire thing apart. And ended up with a jelly roll worth of 2.5inch squares.

With some of the squares, I made a granny square quilt. And these leftover blocks ended up as a runner.
I actually made this runner earlier ...

Hello! Is there still anyone out there? How was that for an unplanned break? After summer, I broke my laptop, it took forever to get the info off of it. We finally did and here I am!

In May I was queen bee for our TrueNorth blocks. I picked Gigi's Thimbles Scrap Jar Stars and waited for my blocks to start coming in.

As I put the quilt together, I couldn't stop making these blocks. They are just too fun.

I love this quilt so much. I had to quilt it with my current obsession, Malachite.

Love, love ...

Just a wee little something to show today. My sewing time has been drastically decreased lately so I have been sticking to things I can finish quickly. Like these adorable bunnies.

Aren't they adorable?

I kept the quilting simple and went with a  meander. I had actually wanted to cross hatch them but just started meandering when I went to quilt.

I went with a super pale pink for the binding which I love.

Just too cute.

This quilt.
I found a FQ bundle at a quilt store and was searching for the perfect border fabric.
Could it be cuter?

The forest animals.
Love.

The punch of orange.

Of course I backed it with a snuggly flannel.

And quilted it with one of my favourite pantos for square block quilts.

Adorable!

Way back in 2013(January to be precise), I made a granny square quilt. You can see it here. I've kept the remaining 2.5inch square and been trying to find something to make. I did make a ChurnDash quilt but it hardly made a dent in the squares.

Until I found this.

I could not love this more. I saw that a lot don't I?

Such a great way to use up 2.5inch squares.
If I had had more, I would have gone bigger no question.

And I got to try out a new panto for ...

This quilt.
I literally could not love this quilt more. This was the block I had chose for the 2016 True North bee, the Ohio star. I requested colours in red, teal or black/grey and the choice of 3 different  block sizes. I wasn't entirely sure what I would end up with to be honest.

Once I started on my 2017 True North quilt, I  thought I could use these blocks as part of the backing on the new quilt. But when I was fiddling with layouts, something clicked and this is what I ended with.

I ended ...

I've been having a terrible time with my computer; I filled up my memory and can't access my pictures. I take LOTS of pictures lol.

I was going through my pictures when I found these and realized I had never shown them. So some Christmas in April today :)

I saw a block posted somewhere online last fall and knew I needed to make these. I'm pretty sure it took longer to hunt down the Christmas fabrics than it did to actually make the runners.

Seriously, how cute are these?

I kept the quilting simple and went with ...

I wanted to send a friend a little something as a thank you and just the way the pattern went, I was able to cut out two of the same quilt. So why not make both?

How cute are they?

As you can see, I kept the quilting simple and went with a crosshatch. I love how it compliments the quilt.

Those crisp bound corners.....

And now time to start something new!

This quilt. I was given the fabric by a friend a few years ago for Christmas and I knew what pattern I wanted to use. I finally sat down a few weeks ago and got it together.

quilted with Malachite

I could not love this more.

And the quilting pattern.
It has quickly become one of my favourites.
I wasn't 100% sure about using it on this but so glad I went with it. I love the look.

I kept the binding simple and went with the same grey as the sashings. I love how it finishes the quilt ...

I was given some mini charm packs which was perfect since I had just seen a project online that was perfect for them.

Isn't it fun?

I wanted to keep the quilting simple and went with my favourite of straight lines.

This crisp corner <3 p="">

Quick, cute and perfect.

I took part of Valentine's mini quilt swap and had to make my favourite Valentine Mini quilt.

And why make one when I can make two?

I used one of my favourite Thimbleblossom fabrics for backing.

I quilted one with a cross hatch and got lazy for the second and did just straight lines.

Finished them off with a nice red grunge fabric.

Simple perfection

I love surprises.
Especially ones when the receiver has no idea they are getting a quilt.

Sadly, the colours on the outdoor pictures of this quilt are totally out of whack.

This quilt was a gift for a young woman in our church who had just graduated from Bible school. The best part was she was totally shocked to receive it. I found that funny since two of her siblings have received quilts from me as well.

The true colours of this quilt. The border fabric was a lucky find. I mixed a few batik jelly rolls to make this ...
