Autumn Jubilee Harvest Star Quilt Along – Block B from From My Carolina Home

Autumn Jubilee Quilt Along continues today with the second block.  Block B is simple, we’ll take two pieces of fabric and sew/cut, sew/cut until we have two quarter square triangle units.

Begin with two pieces of fabric, one in the black background, and the other in the center star print, both 13-1/2-inches square.  Or you can use a different print if you prefer.  The idea is that the quarter squares will tessellate with the star background, making a pointed background.  Start by marking two sewing lines on the lighter of the two fabrics, one quarter inch ...

enchanted sal - babette from easypatchwork

Hi everyone! Thanks for joining us for another Sunday edition of our Enchanted Sew Along. Are you excited? I certainly am! I truly love sewing together the enchanted figures. This week is one of my favorites - Babette. Babette is French and means - my God is plentiful. It is a very fitting name for the second angel in our series. If you have purchased the pattern, you may have realized that the

Little blocks from Espritpatch

It feels like it has been forever since I made some patchwork blocks so this week I tried to catch up on the Vintage Kitchen blocks.

I made the wooden spoon and the star

the heart
the measuring cups
the fork and the spatula
I am not quite there yet, I still need the house and the canisters but not far back now. It was quite fun to complete about once block every night.

6 little blocks for October so far!

6 Köpfe 12 Blöcke: Mariniers Compass from Quiltmanufaktur

Dadurch erreichte ...

Teacups Quilt Along – Block 15 from From My Carolina Home

Time for Block 15 for the Teacups Quilt Along, and this month we go back once again to a paper pieced block.  I’ve simplified one from EQ8 to eliminate a lot of tiny pieces on the handle.  You can do this with traditional piecing too, by cutting apart the pieces and adding seam allowances.

So, let’s begin by printing the pattern, and cutting the major sections apart.

Teacups QA at FromMyCarolinaHome.com

I wanted to fussy cut my teacup print, so I used a door as a lightbox.  Hint, if you do this, be sure your print is wrong side up, as this ...

It’s Story Time Again!! Once Upon A Story…..

Once Upon a Story blog hop button

…. there were two hardworking and dedicated quilt bloggers, one at Seams to be Sew and the other at Clever Chameleon. Their names were Marian and Dione.

One day, Marian decided to go into the internet forest in search of quilt designers to help create a huge blog hop. A blog hop where there would be a free quilt block pattern at every stop, and lots of prizes too. The theme was to be Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes: Once Upon A Story.

Dione, who spends a great deal of time tending ...

Summer Moon QAL: September blocks from Carried Away Quilting

I’m cruising right along with my blocks for the Summer Moon Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop. The September block assignment includes three darling blocks: Maple Star, Patchwork Big O, and Southern Star. All three blocks feature the Nest collection by Lella Boutique for Moda.

My homework for this month was a bit lighter, as I had already made the Maple Star block months ago when I first received the book. This is still one of my favorite blocks. Any block that lends itself to a fussy-cut center is aces in my book!

The Patchwork Big O block was ...

Once Upon a Story Row Along from From My Carolina Home

Quilt alongs are really fun, and I’ve been joining more of them this year as a designer.   Earlier this summer I did one with Moda for their Summer at the Beach. When when Marian at Seams to Be Sew announced her fifth annual Row Along, I had a idea right away, so I decided to participate and submitted my design.

Each designer has taken a different fairy tale or nursery rhyme  and created a row for a quilt. There are multiple sizes of rows, and some patterns like mine can be made in various sizes to fit the need ...

More New BOTMS, Wooly Block 2019, and other Events… from Seams To Be Sew

Coming October 1st is my all time favorite event for the year. Please don’t get me wrong, I love Block of the Months, Quilt Alongs, and other fun events that go on thru the year, but the one I’ll call a “temporary” event is the Wooly Block Adventure Event. Since I found out about the Wooly Block Adventure event in 2016, and was actually participating in it during our move back to the states that year I have thoroughly enjoyed this event. I got to do a bit of pay if forward with this event in 2016 when ...

Mosaic Mystery Quilt: Cutting Fabric from Goer

It's been a long while since I've cut all the fabric for an entire lap quilt in one go. I've been doing more improv projects where the cutting is mixed in with the piecing. Or I've worked piecemeal on a project. However, the August instructions for the Mosaic Mystery Quilt were to cut up the four main fabrics. (I haven't selected border fabric as I'm waiting to see the quilt top. I'd like to find a coordinating stripe, so any leads on that are greatly appreciated.)

Fabric A is the gold print. Fabric ...
