Temperature Quilt Along - Introduction & Signup from twiddletails

OK, here we go! I realized the other day that most of my quilt alongs are started because I need the motivation to actually complete a project.
When I was reading up on how to host a quilt along, one of the first requirements was to actually make the quilt. Hmmmm...

WARNING: This is a rather long post, but please bear with me.

The premise of a temperature quilt is to make a 365 block quilt where each block has the low and high temperature for a day represented, using a color for each temperature (or range of temperatures, because ...

Waterfall Quilt Along: Week 3 from Goer

I am just loving my palette for the Waterfall Quilt Along. Light tones are a bit of a struggle in my fabric collection though... so we'll see how this comes together.

This weekend I got the strip piecing done for the first sewing step of the quilt along. (I think this makes me just one week behind schedule. Yay!) Next up, I will be cutting the strips and then I can start piecing blocks. I'm making the baby size quilt, so I should be back on track soon. :-)

You can read more on my fabric pull in my ...

Temperature Quilt - 24 colors vs. 12 colors from twiddletails

Realizing that 24 colors may be a whole lot to get together for the temperature quilt, I redrafted my prototype using only 12 colors.

This is the 24 color version:

And this is the 12 color version:
All in all not that much of a difference. There are definitely some blocks where the low and high temps fall in the same range and both parts of the block are the same color. There are also multiple identical blocks. I don't think any of this will make that much of a difference in the end.

I also drafted a 12-color ...

Waterfall Quilt Along from Goer

If you're new here, maybe you haven't seen my WIP list. No need to click. Spoiler: it's long. ;-) The way this happens might be obvious. I have a lot of things in progress that I love, but something new and shiny comes along (in my head or on the internet) and I think "I want to make that." Can you relate?

That's exactly what happened with the Waterfall Quilt Along. I admired the original quilts as Amy made them. So when she offered the quilt along, I decided to go for it. Do I need a ...

autumn jubilee from Making A Lather

Carole from from My Carolina home offered a quilt along mystery called autumn jubilee. I did her square dance mystery earlier and really liked it. And I like her fabric choices, so I decided to start one of my own. I am late. Right now it is free and very cute. It's a classic addition for this time of year.
block a is here

I started adding a pin to the top of the last seam I sewed, so I could alternate which direction I was sewing.

And I finished 10 this far, but I can see, I didn ...

Announcing The Sunset Isle QAL from Blossom Heart Quilts

Sew away into the sunset with the Sunset Isle quilt pattern – a row-of-the-month program designed by me in collaboration with Ava & Neve. Inspired by Fair Isle designs with a dash of south American geometric, Sunset Isle is a beginner-friendly skill builder pattern, with plenty of opportunity for playing with colour with your fabrics!

I simply adore geometric quilt designs, so when Martina from Ava & Neve approached me about working together on a project for 2019 and suggested that a row quilt would be something fun and different, I immediately knew what kind of quilt design needed to be sketched out ...

Maple Leaves - Ein Blättersturm from Quilt Collection M.

I did it again: I was part in a quilt along of Fatquartershop. The pattern  was again a vintage pattern ...
