100 Blocks 100 Days Finish from Becca's Crazy Projects

I grabbed my scrappy binding and got stitching.
I love all the little details in this quilt. Look at that little skeleton!
I used almost 30 feet of binding and I didn't even make a dent in that bin of leftover binding.
This was my all-time favorite sampler quilt. Just a great project.

Check out the great images folks are sharing on Instagram under #100days100blocks2021. Newly finished quilts are showing up so you can see how people are putting these blocks together.

Crazy Week from Becca's Crazy Projects

This week has been a little crazy. Not bad. Just not as productive as I wanted it to be.

As a demonstration, here is what my cutting table looked like at bedtime on Tuesday. Hopefully I will have something more substantial to share on Friday. Enjoy the rest of your week!

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I finished my blocks in October 2021
I managed to get the blocks arranged and sewn up in March 2022. These things don't happen quickly. I added a 3" border to frame those 100 blocks.
I even pieced the backing, because that's how scrappy quilts can be.
For binding, I dug into my bin of leftover binding. Yes, this is a thing some quilters have. Mine never gets enough love. There are so many leftover pieces. I need to come up with another good scrappy idea to use some more of it up.
I spend a bunch of ...

Sunday Stash February 20, 2022 from Quilt Paint Create

No change in the numbers, but quilting has begun on the challenge quilt. It’s just a matter of time.

The top hasn’t changed much from last week. Instead of showing it again, another valentine-ish quilt gets the honors today.

This was the 2019 hand pieced QAL quilt hosted by Simple.Handmade.Everyday and Elm Street Quilts. I might have switched out a block or two, and I bailed on hand piecing it. But I finished it timely and I like it.

Dressing Up - a modern tile qal from Sew Sunshine

"Dressing Up"

Modern Tile Pattern by Mell Meyer

27"x 27"

made from upcycled textiles

hand appliqued shapes on all the blocks

hand quilted with big stitch in med gray

I used all black or black gray textiles. I have always wanted to do dark on dark and thought by making this pattern smaller I could accomplish it and keep my sanity. Sewing with dark thread on blacks requires lots of natural light for me.

As you can imagine with the different textiles - denim, shirting, slippery shirting, skirt weight and stretch denim it was a challenge. Some areas have really ...

Surrounded Christmas QAL- Week 1- Cutting from Moda Lissa

Welcome! Hope you are here to join the Surrounded Christmas QAL. This is week 1 and the goal is to get your entire quilt cut out.

You will need Oh Scrap book available at quilt stores now for the actual measurements.

Today ‘s post is about yardages and cutting for the SURROUNDED QAL.

The original quilt used light sashing so the yardages from the book will vary some if you want dark sashing like I used in my version.

IF using a Fat quarter bundle, cut your sashing pieces first ( Listed under fabrics A in the book- qty 49) This ...

Time to Hustle – Quiltalong from Moda Lissa

On my “must make” list has always been a Christmas version of SURROUNDED from my book, OH, Scrap!

When I saw Hustle & Bustle by Basic Grey, I knew this fabric line was perfect for this project. There are enough big scale iconic fabrics to use for sashing and a nice range of greens and reds to be able to easily mix additional holiday lines.

The quilt takes a total of almost 10 yds which is what is in a Moda Fat Quarter bundle of 40 prints, but I wanted more variety so I added Christmas Morning by Lella Boutique and ...

boho heart QAL from Making A Lather

We have been making progress on our Jen kingwell boho blocks. Our Friday group is working together on this quilt as a QAL. Sue and Linda have kept up each week with the assignments. The rest of us are in various stages of behind. I just finished week 2 completely. We are on week 5.

We made these separately. Linda is working from her "wild" box and I am doing mine in rainbow stripes. Funny, how each of our blocks looks very much alike.

Positivity QAL - Winners from Sew Preeti Quilts

We have come to the end of our journey.  This is the final stop in the Positivity QAL 2021.

It took many emails, phone calls, scribbles and scrawls, and test blocks.  There were a couple of disappointments but many pleasant surprises. My hope was a dozen new quilts for the Mercyful Hospital. Bernie tells me that we have 19.  So far.

From Janine (Quilts from the Little House)

From Mary (Quilting is in my Blood)

I know Diann's quilt is in progress. Joy is working on (at least) two quilts and quilting one flimsy received from Astrid. Mari is ...
