100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sometimes when I make a block I wonder if I have missed an opportunity. I'm still not sure how all of these are going to become one quilt but I'm looking forward to it.

If you are on the fence about trying out this pattern you can check out the great images folks are sharing on Instagram under #100days100blocks2021

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I approach each block individually. I pick a single fabric and work with it to make that block. I'm not sure how these are going to go together but I'm hoping it all fits together. If you are on the fence about trying out this pattern you can check out the great images folks are sharing on Instagram under #100days100blocks2021

Exciting Announcement: QUILTALONG! from Wedding Dress Blue

Earlier this year, Katy shared a picture of this wonderful quilt.

I thought it was a great idea! A few weeks ago I cut out pieces to make a similar quilt. Katy and I got to talking and decided it was just too much fun to keep to ourselves, so we are inviting you to join us and build a Two And Four quilt of your very own.

I am building a version similar to the one above (based on 2-1/2″ squares and strips) and Katy will share directions for making a very similar quilt, but using larger (and ...

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I love using up little pieces of leftover fabric to make these blocks. I'm still pulling from scrap bins and I think this will be a great quilt. I post these every day (except that one day when I forgot until the following day) on my Instagram. I tag all of the photos so you can easily find other makers.

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I'm still loving each of these blocks. The finished quilt will be a wonderful combination of so many different fabrics I've used. Get your own copy of the Kinship: 100 Block Fusion Sampler and join in the 100 Days 100 Blocks quilt along project.

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I suppose I should start looking at layout options. Some of these blocks would be great in a one or two-block quilt. It's great to add them to my block library.

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

Week number two of my 100 Days 100 Blocks quilt along project.
I'm continuing to work through the 100 blocks. I've been pulling fabrics from my scrap bins. I'm sure this won't make much of a dent in my collection of scraps.

I'm not going to add individual photos to this post. I also will only update with a collage in the future. If you want to see any of these in greater detail you should check out my Instagram feed. You'll get updates daily for this project, assuming I can keep up. I ...

Wednesday WIP: Sampler Spree Quilt-Along from Patchwork Sampler Blog

Have you joined the Sampler Spree Quilt-Along? It is sponsored by Moda and is based on Susan Ache’s book, Sampler Spree. Each week a specific color is announced along with 10-12 blocks to piece using that color. It was so helpful to have my scraps sorted by color. I can just pull out the appropriate bin and start cutting!

Sampler SpreeSamp

I am having so much fun making these little six-inch blocks. The quilt-along started in June but it is not too late to join in. Check out Moda’s blog post here for more information. Week one’s color ...

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I'm going to try to do a weekly update for my 100 Days 100 Blocks quilt along project. This is the first of those updates.
Last week I finished blocks 1-4.

I'm going very scrappy with this quilt. I'm using squares and strips I have left over from other projects. I have no idea what layout I'm going to use when I finish them all. It is an adventure!

Odds and Ends from Becca's Crazy Projects

Where does the time go?
I picked up this fun machine quilting book a couple months ago and I keep telling myself I'll actually write a review. Maybe next month.
I succeeded in getting block number one of 100 Days 100 Blocks completed. Wish me luck I can stay on track. That's it for today. Enjoy your weekend.

Challenging Myself from Becca's Crazy Projects

Every time I make a sampler quilt I tell myself I won't do it again.
Along comes 100 Days 100 Blocks and changes my mind before it has even begun. Image from Gnome Angel's website. I will admit I may have been influenced by Hunter's Design Studio. She shared her version on Instagram and it is delightful. I've been trying to prepare by cutting a few blocks so I'm ready to sew on day one of one hundred. I'll try to keep up. My guess is I'll post to Instagram as I finish ...

Well-Loved Ladies QAL: Sashing from Nestlings By Robin

YAY!
You are so close to the finish;)
This week we are on to the
sashing for the blocks.
Making the decision to blend
the sashing so the stars jump out
or to give your blocks a small
bit of framework will be
the hardest part of this step.
I promise!
http://www.nestlingsbyrobin.com/index.html
My blocks rested on my
guest bed for a good solid
week just as you see them here.
I just couldn't wrap my
brain around how it would
look when done and I
didn't want to waste time
making all those little
star points just to hate ...

Well-Loved Ladies QAL: Ruffled Tulips from Nestlings By Robin

Welcome to block 12
and our last block
before we get to assembly.
www.nestlingsbyrobin.com

The photo above is a detail of
a circa 1860 quilt in my collection.
Normally I show you the block
and you can see a bit of it
in the upper corner, but I wanted
you to see the fun border
that was added too.

As we come closer to adding
a border, I wanted you to see
that I had other options from
my collection and it was
sooo hard to choose!

The quilting on this one
is all over the place from
clamshell, to flowers ...

Well-Loved Ladies QAL: Mexican Rose from Nestlings By Robin

                                       Welcome to block 11.

It is exciting how close to done
we are getting, right?!
www.nestlingsbyrobin.com
The photo above is a detail of
a circa 1860 quilt in my collection.
The quilting is gorgeous cross hatching, even
through the applique'.
So soft!
We can see what a popular
style of quilting this is for
that time period because I
haven't had to write in a
new design for a few blocks now:)

This is the only one I have
of this design and I do LOVE it!
Again from my dear friend in Illinois
who finds the best deals!
