What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

We have had great weather and have enjoyed outdoors, and, even found a monarch on our flower tubs. We have planted milkweed in our yard, but, it hasn't bloomed. What a surprise to see our own monarch butterfly.

Last week, I stopped getting comments in my email...again. It took me three days to figure it out and change my settings again. I was using the new blogger. Was anyone else having that problem?

I have collected little bits of triangles, mostly, for the shoofly leader/ ender from last year. The size I am making uses 1 1/2 inch hsts. I am getting very close to finishing all the blocks I have kitted for that quilt, so, I can, with great abandon, use these little bits in a few of my rainbow projects.... or get rid of ...

 Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a good day. It's hot and rainy again today, and I'm getting a little tired of it. One of my brothers lives in California and my mom used to say that it was "boring" there because the weather was the same every day. I don't think I would be bored by sunshine every day, but the heat and rain is getting a little tiresome. I couldn't go walking this morning because it was 73 degrees at 6:30 am, with 94% humidity, and it was just too much ...

I've finally completed this little art quilt. This one started out with the frame. I had one that Richard had made but I'd measured incorrectly, so it was just sitting, waiting for something. This sunset is my rendition of a photo I took one evening after a rainstorm. 

I wanted to emphasize the contrast of dark and light clouds. To do that I broke up the light sky with deep, royal purples and blues. 

And to add some shimmer to the light clouds, I tacked on a shiny organza, which was a difficult, messy chore.

 Marley has been sewing with me quite a bit. She made face masks for her family, handkerchiefs for her Poppa, and a pair of shorts for herself. Two days ago she decided that it's time to make another quilt.

Hi everyone! Are you all done Christmas shopping? Me neither! I went out shopping last weekend and mainly just looked at all the decorations and enjoyed some Christmas spirit. I bought one thing, and I'm happy with that. I've actually only got a few things left since I got almost everything online. My parents have forbidden all of us from buying any more presents for them and the grandkids are still small enough to be happy with a box, so that only really leaves my husband. I needed the last color to finish putting the Irish chain quilt together. But, with the end of the year, I have lost momentum on the rainbow quilts.
I am guessing, I am concerned with getting all wips for the year nestled in their winter homes for the wait for the start of a new year and new goals. It's a myth I still believe, that January first all the ufos disappear into a happier place, and I can just start any old thing I want..... again.... shhh don't tell me...

Hello all! Here we are in November and it's definitely started living up to its name. It's gotten cold and windy, but of course I love it when its dark outside at 4 pm. It makes driving home even more exciting. At least most cars have their lights on now. The deer, not so much.

We had our first snowfall on Halloween. It was a surprise this early. It has been a pretty fall, and our sweet gum finally had yellow leaves. We bought sweet gum especially for it's fall color, but it hasn't changed in the fall in four years. It was lovely this year.

This week I paid taxes on my car for the *third* time-- when I bought it, when I moved to Delaware, and now when I moved to Maryland.
