Behind the scenes: Getting ready for Quilt Market Vlog from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

Two years ago I went to my first Quilt Market. I had no idea what to expect and it ended up giving me the tools I needed to take Quilt Addicts Anonymous from a blog and small online store into a full blown business.

Then I just had to get on a plane and go. Now, getting ready for Quilt Market is a marathon of sewing, last-minute marketing pushes, setting up meetings to make new and nurture old connections, all while working on very little sleep. And I still have to get on a plane, this time with an overweight ...

Quilt Market - It's a Wrap from Kelly Ann's Quilting

The last day of market is typically spent running around checking the last bit off of my to-do list...it would have really helped if I had brought the list with me to the convention center instead of leaving it on the coffee table. I remembered a few things...I forgot a few things...but all in all I'm bringing back some really cool stuff for the shop. I wanted to share these pictures with

Quilt Market - Schoolhouse Day from Kelly Ann's Quilting

image courtesy Susan  Schoolhouse day is full of listening to some of the industry leaders tell us all about their newest latest must have's for our stores...this year was so different than previous years. We sat and listened to vendor after vendor telling us how to make the customers experience better...how to reach the customer...how to educate the customer...needless to say I took a

Quilt Market - Travel Day from Kelly Ann's Quilting

Spring Quilt Market changes cities every year, I love it when it's in Pittsburg, but this year is another "P" city Portland. Most of my friends are flying out today, but I flew into Seattle last night and will drive down to Portland with Susan of Swirly Girls Design. ROAD TRIP I always start off my trips to a visit to the airport Starbucks.  I've been on a cold brew kick at

Bountiful Minis from the Portland Modern Quilt Guild from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hey there, makers!

How’s everything? It’s insane how it’s already the ending of the year. Before 2017 comes to a close, I’m here to showcase three wonderful makers from a long overdue recap. At AGF we love partnering with quilt guilds and makers for different activities. So, from May to September we paired up with the Portland Modern Quilt Guild and our designer Sharon Holland to host the Bountiful Mini Quilt Challenge.

The participants were asked to create a “modern mini quilt” inspired by rustic elementsthat complement the homey and earthy feel of Bountiful fabrics ...

Guardian Games from Becca's Crazy Projects

If you are a fan of games, board games, miniatures, card games, role-playing games, deck building games, or dice games, you should check out Guardian Games the next time you're in Portland, OR. I wandered around in there for what must have been a hour. The shelves are stacked high with games of every type. I'll admit that I was overwhelmed and in the end didn't buy a single thing.

Twisted Yarn Shop from Becca's Crazy Projects

When I travel, I try to find at least one new-to-me yarn shop to visit. This time it was Twisted Yarn Shop in Portland, OR.  It was a great shop filled with things I wanted. I had to narrow it down to a couple options or I wouldn't have been able to get it all in my suitcase.
I wanted to buy a fistful of the available colors of Twine. Sock. I settled on this fun pop of yummy pink called Electric Youth. I also grabbed a Knitted Wit Smartie in blue because I like having little bits of ...
