EQ Album OP 39 from Virtual Quilter

Imagine a cold day in a big, overdecorated and drafty country house … and being able to snuggle up under a quilt like this.

I think it looks a bit like an antique … and it hasn’t even been made yet. But then I sometimes let my imagination get away from me a times.

Luckily our house doesn’t get that cold, but I love the design!

EQ 4s OP from Virtual Quilter

I just had to double check how many blocks I have used in this series.

The first link link goes to four designs in this series … thought it was appropriate that I use the number that came up!

However, there are way more designs here.

Logs OP + 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 from Virtual Quilter

Middle of the week means it is time for a short break from the world to peruse some Log Cabin quilt designs.

Five designs today show a gradual change … each one is just a bit different from the one before, made different by swapping some blocks, and maybe making them twist and turn a bit.

I rather like the one above.

Usually I mix the virtual designs in each file so they appear here in a more random sequence, but sometimes I leave them as they appear so maybe you can see the progression.

So that is it for this ...

Super 7s OP 19 from Virtual Quilter

I am slowly going through project files and my block library and redrawing blocks which look a bit out of whack.

The curves in that border need some work … now added to the list! The list keeps growing, but eventually I hope to get them all done!

A Spoonful of Christmas OP 1, 2 from Virtual Quilter

I love light green backgrounds at the moment, though I suspect that I would use an almost white on white print in a real quilts. Perhaps it is that the green looks less stark on screen.

Maybe I would use a paler green than the one I like on screen for the real quilts.

After Pompeii OP 25 from Virtual Quilter

After Pompeii OP 25

I love the way Double Wedding Ring blocks form diamonds when placed side by side, and they work even better when the blocks are on point.

Hi 5s OP 21

Interesting.

Hi 5s OP 22

Interesting too, but love the low contrast blocks in the background.

Interesting.

However, that has got to be the least inspiring name ever for a series of quilt designs!

Autumn Daze 68 from Virtual Quilter

Autumn Daze 68

I like it … but I like every design in this project file. Love the edges of the central design.

With this design I have now converted every project file I have used for this blog to Electric Quilt 8, with the exception of Log Cabin designs.. (I say that with the full knowledge that at least one not Log Cabin  project file will appear next week, next month or next year … or all of the aforementioned!)

It has taken me since early November, 2017 to reach this milestone, though there have been a few new project files added directly to ...

Logs on Point + 86, 87, 88, 89, 90 from Virtual Quilter

Logs on Point + 86

Interesting! Love the frame crated by the blocks around the edge, love the centre.

Logs on Point + 87

Minor change, like it better than the first.

Logs on Point + 88

Interesting frame … not really keen on the overall design.

Logs on Point + 89

The one above gets my vote for this mid week Log Cabin retreat.

Logs on Point + 90

It has been a very short week … which has been emphasized by scheduling the full week of virtual quilts so I could concentrate on real quilts and quilters for five days, including a real three day retreat, and some time one on one with a quilting friend.

More virtual Log Cabin quilts next week in a ...

Five Patch Fragments OP 4

Same blocks as Five Patch Fragments, and a brand new collection of fabric to go with them, and set on point  … I like the new, and rather modern look.

Logs on Point in Purple 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 from Virtual Quilter

Logs on Point in Purple 36

Love this project file.

There are just three colour variations of the traditional Log Cabin block used, and I have enough for another three mid week retreats … unless I play a little bit after I finish the preparation for today’s collection.

Logs on Point in Purple 37

The one above is interesting … looks like it should have a label in the centre!

Logs on Point in Purple 38

Like the one above … enough to play with it to add two more variations to the collection.

Logs on Point in Purple 39

The one above would be interesting with the colours reversed.

Logs on Point in Purple 40

Must play with the one above before I close up the project file!

More Log Cabin ...
