Fast-Forward Once Again! from From the Strawberry Patch...

Here's the second sampler quilt top from the bin of old blocks-of-the-month; this one, also, from 2007! As explained in the previous post, I had stashed the blocks along with fabric purchased at the time for finishing; I'm SEW glad that I did that! The extra green and dark red came in handy for those cornerstones in the pieced sashing. I found this setting idea in Sharyn Craig's Setting Solutions

Welcome, Spring! from From the Strawberry Patch...

After a few false starts it looks as though spring is here to stay! These white Iris are from my childhood home, I dug up a little clump of them before my parents sold the home and moved twelve years ago. Since then, I have divided them at least four times, our daughter in the Capital City has a clump of her own (which may have also been divided by now)! These Iris were added more recently,

Nap Blankets from Mama Spark's World

My friend Debbie, in NC was making nap blankets for her daughter's class of 4 year olds (and the 2 other classes).  I decided that I wanted to help her out by making some and also using up stash in the process.  It takes one yard of cotton woven and one yard of flannel.  I've had some people ask me if there is a special pattern.  No there is not, but I can walk you though it if you want to know.

Gettin' Chubby from From the Strawberry Patch...

I'm getting chubby these days; well, maybe (hopefully) not me, but I'm getting chubby with my binding! "Chubby binding" is the preferred binding method of Kim Diehl and it is explained in all of her books. I spoke about it here, having used it on a quilt last month. The appearance is quite nice and the corners turn perfectly square each and every time. "Brother Bear" has been prepared with this
