Solo Exhibit at World Quilt New England, Aug 15-17, 2019 from Art and Quilting in Camden

Trying to figure out something delightful to do in mid August? I’d like to invite you to see my solo exhibit of twenty-three art quilts at the Mancuso show, World Quilt New England, in Springfield, Mass. The exhibit will feature many of the artworks that were in my Houston Quilt Festival exhibit in 2017, where I was one of two artists in the debut of the Rising Stars exhibit, but includes new works as well. I plan on being there Saturday afternoon giving informal gallery tours–I hope to see you!

That Handmade Touch - my book from Sotak Handmade

Hello everyone, happy Monday!

Today is a very special day for me as I can finally spill the beans and let you all know that I wrote a book!

That Handmade Touch was a true labor of love and I'm so anxious to see what you think.

The book includes patterns for pouches, bags, and buckets, as well as a few home and pet accessories.

Here's just a little sampling of projects for you to enjoy :)

(all photos by Lucky Spool and Holly DeGroot)

The book also includes projects using my very favorite qayg (quilt as you go ...

home again from Crazy Mom Quilts

Welcome to finish it up Friday!

Yesterday I arrived home from a 10 day teaching trip to Florida. I visited 4 different guilds while I was there and it was a fabulous trip, but I am so happy to be home! I haven't sewn anything in about 2 weeks, so today I'm going to highlight some of the work of my wonderful students and a few things that people brought for show and tell. I hope you enjoy the inspiration!

All of these are photos of the students' work. Each one of these projects is based on quilt ...

spicing things up! from Crazy Mom Quilts

I have 13 blocks left to piece for my biased quilt,  but I was feeling a little burnt out making those blocks, so I switched gears and pulled out my moody quilt instead. Variety is one good reason to have so many WIPs! Ha!

Anyway, I like this quilt and where it is headed, but I couldn't help but feel like it needed.....something.
I auditioned some black and white polka dots, which are nice, but not quite what I was looking for. (I'm completely shocked that polka dots weren't the answer! They almost always are!!)
My ...
