A happy day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was just a happy day yesterday in many ways. The weather was glorious - a short-sleeved T-shirt kind of day. Things got done that had been sitting for a while, and well - it was just a happy day!

A HUGE thanks to Maria, who found the panel that I was looking for. I must get that paid for today. I'll share the store with you tomorrow - after my purchase goes through!

Oh my - when I looked at my FitBit last night, it had been in overdrive all day. 14.99 km. How did that happen? I did go for ...

Surrounded by love from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm making great progress on getting stuff done. Yeah - last week, I just felt like I was going backward all the time. This week is going much smoother.

Three hours of Zoom yesterday and no drops. Can I dare say that the connection is stabilized? I'm knocking very hard on wood as I say that!

I'm in the process of writing a pattern that is taking a bit longer than I had planned, but it's like writing THREE patterns in one. I've got all the paperwork laid out to finish that off. It's now ...

Do it NOW! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Good morning!!!  Wow - I didn't get a whole lot done yesterday, but I learned a very valuable lesson. Actually, I already know this (and so do you!), but the topic surfaced yesterday and it's a good wakeup call for ALL of us.

I taught a private lesson for someone on their sewing machine. It's actually a couple - both of them sew and I love their sewing room which has two sewing tables and they seem to have loads of fun working together. That won't happen at my house, but that's OK - I don't like ...

Back to the routine from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm back!! At home, that is!  Even though it was nice to get away, I have to say that I was thrilled to get home. We've been in the same routine for months, and well - I like routine!

I did snap a couple of pictures of what people were working on, and I'll try to find those. I needed a wee cat nap before I left. I just do NOT function on little sleep, and well - I was a bit agitated with what had happened the night before, and when I'm agitated, I don't sleep ...

A quiet day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We all have days like this. I was tired - no I was exhausted and I just couldn't shake the feeling. Until I went for a long walk after dinner! But I was still tired so I went to bed and had a great sleep and I'm recharged. I think there's been so much excitement in the last couple of days and well - my brain wouldn't shut down. Now I'm good!!

In light of that quiet day, here's some peaceful pictures from my walks and the backyard. BUT - there is quilting stuff at the end ...

Another HAPPY day!!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

H, OH!!!!!  I'm so EXCITED!!!!  Can you guess why? Sometime yesterday afternoon, the ban on short term rentals in Ontario was lifted! Oh, happy day!!!  That means that the next scheduled REAL quilting retreat can take place. We did have one planned for next week, but some of the people coming work during the day and they had to rearrange their vacations. I doubt their bosses would be too happy if we switched around again. Besides - we do NOT know any of the rules and restrictions that come with this development. I can easily wait three more weeks!

Needless ...

Managing stuff from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Here's a couple of life skills that I think we should be passing along to our children. I can't say that I was the best parent in communicating this. There was a good reason - I didn't know better. But now that I do, I'm passing it along to you. And even if you're a new quilter or a seasoned quilter, we should be doing the second skill all the time.

The first skill is how to sort the garbage generated by your household. That goes for recycling, compost, things to donate, etc. Yesterday was the ...

TOO MUCH excitement from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Please forgive me but my brain is going a hundred miles a minute. I'm finding this self-isolation thing so stimulating. I know I'm probably the only one, but there's so much happening and so much to do and I've now got the time. I also have the time to dream up new things. This is BAD!!

I know that some people are struggling with the self-isolation thing and I know it's hard to be stuck in the house and can't go anywhere. I can only hope that has provided people with some time to ...

And so it goes............... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Here's another day! They all seem to blur into one another and yes I have to remind myself what day of the week it is. But then I had to do that pretty much before as well. My calendar for April and May is pretty much empty except for one phone meeting and all the dates for the online classes and meetups. AND we have another retreat scheduled for the end of May. I'm very hopeful and keeping my fingers crossed that the rules will be relaxed enough to be able to go.

 At some point, I'll ...

Sit n Sew Day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So if you have a totally productive day, but you don't work on what you had planned, is that still a productive day?

In the morning, I trimmed two quilts intending to get the bindings on them. I also have a couple of other quilts that need to be bound that I was hoping to deliver to Quilts of Valour today. And I wanted to make the backing for that Dresden Plate quilt.

NONE of that got done. There are no deadlines for any of that stuff, so I'm not worried.

But what did I do? Well - I ...

One more bites the dust from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I didn't get nearly as much completed as I would have liked, but we had company for a good part of the day so it was all for a good reason!

I did manage to get that Redwork Embroidery UFO - DONE!!!  It's now sitting in the "to be quilted" pile and I'm thrilled to death about that. There remain three items on the 2017 list, five on the 2018 list, and nine still on the list for 2019. As I mentioned, I am being very optimistic and putting 12 new items on the list for 2020. I ...

Three point landing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I learned a very valuable lesson yesterday. Let's just say that I hate learning by experience. So if you don't know, we have two dogs. I don't mention them much here as Lexi tries to keep up to date with what happens with herself and Murphy. Today is an exception. Lexi is a Husky and for the most part is a calm dog, although she has her moments. I can just hear her respond to that! Murphy is a Golden Retriever mixed with something. We think it's "dog from hell" but not sure.

Murphy was at ...
