may day, may day . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

It's been a very busy Spring! I looked up and realized if I didn't post something here, May would go by (along with the bottom two-thirds of April) without a word from me. Heaven forbid!!  ;)

Our guild strives to be active in community-oriented events.  One of those events is Panoply, an annual arts festival held in downtown Huntsville's Big Spring Park.
This year at our booth, we went interactive! We had hexies prepped and ready to baste to engage passersby!
Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, over 200 people, adults and kids alike, basted up a ...

And in my personal life... from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

there's not much going on. I am slowly healing from the surgery two weeks ago. Mostly I am resting, napping, and sleeping. However, yesterday and today I went into the studio and actually made some stitches. Of course, some of those stitches were to hem up Lane's pants for graduation, which is tomorrow night. That  took all of maybe 15 minutes.

The other stitches I made had to do with the Cotton Robin final round of mini-quilts. (Here's a sneak peak. Shhh!) It won't be long till the Big Reveal. That's when I can post ...

Thanks, Mom! from From the Strawberry Patch...

Happy Mother's Day! Especially to commemorate the occasion I am wearing this "time to say thank you" Swatch today. When we lived in Europe, twenty-plus years ago, I used to love to shop in the Swatch store there, they always had fun watches and I remember sending two of these watches back to the United States, one for my mother and one for my mother-in-law. I found this one, that had belonged

Stamping a Special Mother’s Day Card from From My Carolina Home

Mother’s day is this weekend, and it is time to make a really special card.  My dear mother in law loves my hand made cards, and I wanted to make a really nice one this year.  Her favorite color is purple, so I got out some different purples to use on a lovely large flower stamp.

I used the green ink pad on the leaf section, then three colors of purple on the flower, inking the entire stamp.

Then, it is stamped onto off-white card stock.  The lovely clear image has some nice variation in colors.

Happy Mother's Day from Mama Spark's World

My daughter called me home from camping to celebrate Mother's Day early. We went to the nail place and I got my toes and my fingers done.   I decided to try something new.   I had a sparkly teal for the "French" pedicure/manicure.  I LOVE how this turned out!  My daughter in NC sent these beautiful flowers. My son gave me these beautiful flowers too.   Apparently

Happy Mother’s Day with our $5 Friday from Wasatch Quilting

$5 Friday

With 85 million American’s now holding the job title as “Mother”, I’m glad we have this special day to honor and celebrate the things they have given up for us. Their waistlines, sleep, time, years of peace and quiet,  and even their lives. I chose to have my amazing mother draw a Peony for the $5 Friday this week because, like the Peony, our mother’s represent honor, romance, and beauty in all forms! Inside and out, our mother’s are graceful and beautiful!
