Mosaic Mystery Quilt {Cutting} from Little Bunny Quilts

As alluded to in my latest Brutal Honesty post, I am participating in the Mosaic Mystery Quilt hosted by Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs!

As I have done for many QALs in the past, I have pulled all of the fabric for this quilt from my stash. This time, that comes with a slight caveat -- these fabrics came all together as a kit for another pattern! The kit was given to me by someone downsizing some of their stash and I gladly accepted!

The majority of the kit was fat quarters and half yard cuts, in different shades of burgundy ...

Mosaic Mystery Quilt: Cutting Fabric from Goer

It's been a long while since I've cut all the fabric for an entire lap quilt in one go. I've been doing more improv projects where the cutting is mixed in with the piecing. Or I've worked piecemeal on a project. However, the August instructions for the Mosaic Mystery Quilt were to cut up the four main fabrics. (I haven't selected border fabric as I'm waiting to see the quilt top. I'd like to find a coordinating stripe, so any leads on that are greatly appreciated.)

Fabric A is the gold print. Fabric ...

Pillows with Faux Sherpa and Mosaic Mystery QAL Prep from Needle and Foot

It seems like more of last week was spent outside working in the garden than sewing. We had a bit of cooler weather which was a treat. I joined Ray in working outside several mornings and got several areas of the yard cleaned up. When you have a big yard it must be tackled in smaller sections. If I look at the whole, it is overwhelming and I just avoid it completely. By taking it in small portions, it is more manageable. Much like looking at a quilt top and thinking of all that needs to be quilted. Better to ...

Week 29 of 2019: Stitching and De-Stashing from Life In Pieces

With all the heat advisories, this was a perfect weekend to just stay in and stitch.  Unfortunately, that hasn't been my plan for the weekend, well really not for the whole week.  It's been another challenging one on the finding 15 minutes to stitch most days.  Hopefully it's been easier to find time to play in your sewing room this week.

Work took up several evenings this week.  It was hard to make the trek up the stairs to the sewing room a couple of nights, but I did manage to eek out 15 minutes each night ...

Mosaic Mystery Quilt: Fabric Pull from Goer

Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs has kicked off her latest mystery quilt. I love a mystery quilt and I especially love the Meadow Mist Community. I may not really have the time for this, but I couldn't resist shopping my stash last week to pull fabrics to participate. I've appreciated the pacing of monthly clues in Cheryl's previous mystery quilts and look forward to giving this one a go.

I'll be using Kona Black for my background. (I'll need to buy more.) And these three prints will be my fabrics A, B, and C. I ...

Sew Mysterious Summer from Life in the Scrapatch

I am a mystery to me sometimes.

I am actually thinking to start a new mystery quilt.

Looking at the
Mosaic Mystery Fabric Requirements and Kits Posted Here

I think the fabrics in the photo above are a match made in quilty heaven.

Most of these fabrics are Art Gallery Fabrics that I found at

Needle & Foot also has some kit selections here  for this mystery quilt.
Very tempting!

I am sewing my stash for this one.

The pink is an older stash fabric,
all I have left of the pink, and is from Kate ...

The July To Do List from Life In Pieces

Hope everyone in the United States had a wonderful 4th of July.  We hung out with family, had my Mom's famous potato salad, and talked about growing up and how not normal we all were (in a good way).

Now that we are past the holiday, it's time to get serious about what the quilty plan is for July, including deciding what's going to be the July One Monthly Goal

The quilt plan says that Vintage Dresses is next up on the to be finished list.  The very last border has been attached, so it's now ...
