Quilt Con 2022 Here I Come

Are you going to Quilt Con 2022 in Phoenix?  I hope so. Consider taking one of my ruler quilting classes to learn some ruler designing techniques.

I am honored to be a member the Quilt Con 2022 teaching faculty.  I am excited to have this opportunity to teach what I love, machine quilting on a domestic machine.

Words We Need from Gwen's Quilts

The QuiltCon Charity Challenge is one of the Modern Quilt Guild‘s largest-scale charity projects. Guilds and individual member groups create quilts according to challenge guidelines and after they are displayed at QuiltCon they are donated to the group’s charity of choice. For the 2020 show, groups were challenged to create quilts using text with a palette of grayscale. The vast majority of the quilts incorporated words of encouragement, hope and inspiration. Words we need right now. So I will share these quilts with you in the hopes they will lift you up, bring a smile, and remind you ...

Modern Classic from Leftovers (Between the Blinds) from Sew Sunshine

This is the MQG modern classic makeover pattern by Diana Vandeyar called "Oblique" for the Feb 2017 issue.
I originally made the Chess on the Steps by Krista Hennebury. I named mine 'Strength and Beauty' HERE

I thought I could use additional fabrics in the composition with the specific ones the MQG listed but I don't think that is what they wanted. So with lots of leftovers I decided to see if I had enough fabric left to make another quilt.

I think I want to call mine "Between the Blinds"

2019 - A Fruitful YearIs it possible I made all these quilts in... from Living Water Quilter

2019 - A Fruitful Year

Is it possible I made all these quilts in 2019?!  A year for me is 10 months. I don’t sew in November and December.  I have been a busy bee!

Let’s take a gallery tour.

1) I see a small theme of light backgrounds in some Island Batik Ambassador projects.

2) These smaller projects were fun first-time techniques.

3) Geese Gone Wild made the priemer issue of Modern Monthly, an online magazine published by the Modern Quilt Guild.

4) Mini art quilts are fun between big projects.

5)  It’s also been a year ...
