Log Cabin Baby Blocks 76, 77, 78, 79, 80 from Virtual Quilter

I like the first design of this week’s Log Cabin retreat!

Not too sure about that dark background colour, but love the windmill in the centre.

Prefer the one above this one … too much dark in the centre.

I do like the last one … well, the last Log Cabin design for this week.

More Log Cabin designs next week, mid week.

Ooops … this was meant to be scheduled for yesterday, not today! My only excuse is that I am retired, and every day is Sunday … especially when I am trying to schedule two or three days ahead of ...

The blocks in this project file were drafted as very ordinary Log Cabin blocks, and Electric Quilt distorts them to fit the layout.

In Electric Quilt any square block can be placed in any quilt layout, including hexagons, and the resulting block can be printed out in the shape required to make the quilt. I think that should be called Quilt Magic!

The resulting blocks can be pieced by machine, with or without foundations.

I have used plain diamonds in this project so that the star designs show up clearly.

Love the last one!

Some people wonder why I ...

Interesting … how many stars are there mixed up there?

Same design, different colouring, and the dark star has lost a lot of impact!

I can spend half an hour changing blocks within this layout, and like them all enough to save them, and get cross when I change one before I hit the save button!

Love the design above, though I haven’t used a colour scheme I would ever live with.

I might have to try some prettier colours in my Log Cabin designs, then i might be tempted to make some of them!

The one in the top ...

Log Cabin Baby Blocks 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 from Virtual Quilter

Middle of yet another week so time for a collection of Log Cabin designs, so if possible, retreat from whatever the world is handing you for a few minutes.

I like the first design, but the colours in the second look happy … due to the yellow I guess.

Subtitle for the above could be Ring-a-ring a Posy … or should that be Ring-a-ring a diamond.

All these designs feature stars, but I like the extra star in the centre of the one above.

The last one has a star within a star.

The Log Cabin designs this week are good candidates for foundation piecing, though I don’t think you would need a foundation for the solid blocks around the edge of the first one.

The second one has a few set in corners, some involving triangular Log Cabins.

I think all of these are interesting designs even if they are not as simple to put together as square and rectangular Log Cabin blocks.

The one above is my favorite in this weeks collection.
