Thread Drawing - Line Thickness

What are we weighting for?  Did you know that line weight or thickness can add shape and dimension to a drawing?

Above the ladybug is drawn with one stitched line. It’s recognizable, but something is missing.  She is just laying there and is flat and boring.

To add dimension and shape we must consider line weight or thickness.  Below several layers of thread are added to increase the line weight.

When the line weight increases a flat two dimensional object takes on a three-dimensional quality. What a difference it makes!
