On making a journal from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, the whirlwind that is my life is ramping up! And we talked about the "next week" syndrome yesterday. "It'll be quieter next week - I just need to get through this week." Well, that quiet next week never seems to arrive! But it's all fun, and I love what I do, making the chaotic schedule much more doable!

However, I'm at a retreat, yet I'm not at a retreat. I'm at home this morning. I swear DH looks at my calendar and says -- "oh, DW is away this week, so I should go on a ...

The red car society! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH, OH, OH -- I see more book recommendations. I've added a few to the list but will review the rest of the comments tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for that --- it's fun to read, and expanding the genres I read has been one of the best things. It just goes to say that we can learn from others.

I can't remember what I said about the quilt history story, but I will research it more, so you'll have to wait for that.

In light of that research, I'm appealing to someone on the last Virtual Retreat ...

Getting organized! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was another late night, but only because I was outside for most of the afternoon. It was too nice to be inside, and I'd rather take advantage of the fantastic weather!

We had a great time at Monday sewing, and it's been a while since I haven't had to zip out prematurely because of a work commitment. I got to stay until the end!

Lots of stuff happened in Studio B, and I knew, with all my tidying, a couple of scenarios would arise - not being able to find something and refining already sorted areas.

For ...

Languishing from Quilt in Piece

I have found myself suddenly at a point in my life, without realizing that I have been traveling that way for awhile now. And to be honest, I have noticed a lot of people suffering the same fate. Especially during this Covid Pandemic the past two years. It is called languishing. Merriam Webster Defines languishing as to be drained of energy or vitality to be or live in a state of lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern having lost enthusiasm and hope; disheartened Not everyone who is languishing will experience it in the same way or with the same intensity ...

Choosing an Unfettered Life from Adele Mogavero

My favorite chair is a cozy swivel rocker in front of a window. The scene is peaceful. Unfettered. .A long winding crunchy dirt driveway bordered by lush green trees, flowers in a rainbow of colors, and wildlife scampering about.   It’s where I meditate, journal, read ....

Journaling with out a junk journal! It can be decorative AND simple! from Fabric and Memories

I got tired of writing in a "junk journal".. or maybe I should say it just became to much to deal with to write in one with all the embellishments and decorative things. and the book not opening flat for writing on the pages and a few other issues. So in my new endeavor of branching out from "junk journaling" to just writing down  thoughts, memories, ideas etc, I found a new style of decorating pages. Washi tape, stickers (so no bulk) and a bound book! I always hated making the covers of a "junk journal" but if you put ...

The Many Tales of My Life, In Stitches from Nikki, In Stitches

The Many Tales of My Life, In Stitches

Anyone else out there tired of hearing the word pivot?

As a creative, pivot is something we do on a regular basis. It’s almost natural to us. Something we can expect to be a part of our story.

Whether we’ve changed our chosen medium (which as creatives is also completely normal), needed to realign what we do in order to make a better living (again, a typical plot twist for makers), or felt the burnout of working so hard for so long and just needed some space to find clarity and remember why we love this path we ...

And It Will Be A Day of Joy and Laughter from Adele Mogavero

May it be a day of joy and laughter! … and it will… I am convinced that God speaks to me through all things: For example, devotionals, the bible, pink skies, and everything that is happening to me during the day. Before I read a ....

Grow Your Business With a Business Journal from Professional Quilter

Business Journal

One of my favorite practices as a creative arts entrepreneur is to keep a business journal. As the leader of your business, you have so many hats to juggle that it helps to have a place to track those ideas. It also helps you make decisions about where to grow your business and yourself.

I know that my clients who keep a business journal, find it extremely valuable, a real difference-maker in their businesses. This is true regardless if journaling is done in a pretty book, on an iPad, or with our weekly Success and Strategy Summit tool.

Have you ...

My Favorite Quilt Journal from Repro Quilt Lover

Today, I am sharing my favorite style of notebook, method and preferred supplies for quilt journaling. By that, I mean mostly journaling about my projects, quilting in general, and perhaps some of my fabric shopping excursions. But, since quilting is a big part of my life, life tends to also creep into my quilt journal. My favorite type of journal is a spiral bound blank sketch book and I use the purple disappearing Elmer’s glue stick, Pigma pens, and a variety of colored pens.

When I first decided to capture my quilting life on paper, I was attracted to ...

The Old Journals, Read ’em, Toss ’em, Enjoy ’em. from Adele Mogavero

I’ve mentioned that I journal, a Lot. On average, I go through one notebook a month. If I didn’t go through them from time to time and toss them out, my children would be cursing me when I’m no longer here on earth! We don’t ....

Abide with Me... from Home Designs by Amanda

Let's talk about some Bible Journaling! Today's project was in 1 Samuel 22, verse 23. I've been more drawn to getting Bible Journaling done on videos, although I do want to still do cards, time just seems to be continually getting away from me to be able to do everything! So, Bible journaling it is for now ;) I go over what I did on this page, and what I got out of this verse in
