Jesus Asked It #11. I Like...San Diego! $7.50 Blocks! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #11
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 56789, 10
As you may recall this series started when my Pastor mentioned this in church:  If you really want to get to know Jesus, look at the questions He asked.  Let's continue on our journey.

How often I have been guilty of this very action!
I guess I made the most progress at breaking this habit when I heard this in Al-Anon:

Memes, Responsibility, and Back: Whenever you point the finger of blame at Someone notice the three fingers of responsibility pointing back towards you. Unknown
Dear one, it's a continual journey to improve ourselves, to live out God's Word, to become gentle with ourselves ...

Ouch!  "you of little faith". How quickly we can forget who we are, who we serve, who our Daddy and Big Brother is!
I've been facing medical insurance issues lately and guess what?  I'm almost as upset as I was when we were battling these same issues back in 2014/2015.  Almost as upset.  Almost.  Progress not perfection.
"you of little faith."
I've progressed, yet still have so far to go.  Don't we all?
I can thank God for the ...

Jesus Asked It #9. I Like. $7.50 Blocks from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #9
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 567, 8
Ok.  So this has happened to me several times.  I have had to empty out my entire closet - twice.  In doing so, I realized I had over 50 spring/summer tops - not to include sweaters, shawls and such to wear over said tops.  Seriously.
And that was just tops - I won't even discuss bottoms, skirts, dresses and such.
Before then how many times have I said, "I need clothes."
I realize Jesus was referring to clothes here, but honestly, how many little worries ...

I Like...Jesus Asked It #8. Stitchers' Garden Block 2 from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #8
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 56, 7
You know, I used to be pretty talented at worrying.  In fact, it is a skill I can still pick up at the drop of a hat, a heart, or a hint of bad news.  Then I realized that fear was the real problem.  As I found myself beginning to worry about something, I began asking myself, "What are you afraid of?"  Fear is often disguised as worry.  I needed to face my fears.
I then realized that this acronym,
False Evidence Appearing ...

Jesus Asked It #7
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Since it has been a while since I've addressed this series, I went back to re-read Jesus Asked it #6.  Little did I know how I would be writing to myself.  This year has been tough, and God has been faithful to clothe me with His comforting and strengthening presence.  I live in wonder of it all with a heart filled with praise.

Now, onto Jesus Asked It #7!
Let's remember that this question: Are you not much more valuable than they? comes directly from ...

Jesus Asked It #6. I Like! BOMs Away! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #6
Jesus Asked Series:1,  2, 3, 4, 5

In my NIV Bible, the section of Matthew 6:25-34 is titled, “Do Not Worry.”  Do. Not. Worry.
The beginning refers to how God clothes the grass of the field.  The NKJV refers to the lilies of the field.  If they, which are temporary are so beautifully clothed, how much more/better will He clothe us?

Many of us will face difficult circumstances this year or perhaps are dealing with situations from 2018.  Let us be of great faith, trusting God to spiritually clothe us with His fruit ...

Jesus Asked It #6. Teacup Quilt Along Block 2. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #6
As soon as I read Jesus’ next question, I remembered my first years as a bilingual teacher.  It was so overwhelming!  So, to simplify my life, I decided to join my students and wear the uniform that they wore:  blue pants/skirt and a white blouse.  That way I could focus on what was truly important:  being the best teacher I could be.

As I read the above verse, I wondered if Christ was really saying:  “Seriously, why do you worry about clothes?  There are lost souls to be saved, the sick to be healed!  Time ...

Jesus Asked It #5. Fall Into a QAL Block 2. Book Date. Ooops! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #5

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?  Matthew 6:27 I was a professional worry wart - had my
PhD in this skill - still do.
Worrying is like running on the hamster's wheel...

So much wasted energy and I bet we look pretty silly to our LORD and Savior.

It's hard to break the worrying habit.  One activity that works for me is listening to praise and worship music.  My altar, Promise Box and spending time daily with God are vital to my faith.

I'm curious about ...

Jesus Asked It #4. Teacup QAL Block 1! Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #4
Our next question addresses worry and anxiety over our basic needs.

I find this verse a tough one because of all the hunger and poverty in our world.  Perhaps this is why we are so encouraged to give to missions.  After all, are we not the hands and feet of God?

Would poverty exists if everyone gave a bit to eradicate it?  Hmmm…I wonder?

For application to myself, I have learned that my basic needs – food, clothing, shelter - will be covered by my LORD and Savior.  As I examine other “needs” in my life, I ...

Jesus Asked It #3
I hope you're enjoying this study of the questions Jesus asked!  Our second question is found in the Sermon on the Mount as well.

Love for Enemies
43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbori and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those ...

Jesus Asked It #2. A New QAL: Teacups Quilt Along! Book Date from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #2
Jesus Asked It #2

From last time, we ended with this question:
If we lose our "saltiness" (purpose) or our light, how can we be made salty/filled with light again?  Unlike salt, we can be redeemed.

My first thought as I wrote that question was this verse:
33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

Clearly, after reading this verse in context, Jesus is referring to food, shelter and clothing.  Seek first His kingdom and the rest will come.

However ...
