read moreHi, all!
It's been a hot minute since I posted about my scrappy endeavors, but since I hadn't had much time to work on anything scrappy, I didn't have anything interest to share. But today I have a flimsy finished!!
Here's what it looked like Tuesday night when I shared it with my sewing sisters at church. But it was still a hair small for what we needed.
It’s that time again to find unique and fitting gifts for those we love. We thought it would be great to round up a few gift ideas for the quilter. These are things we use and love. Shop for the fellow quilters in your life, or send the link to someone who is shopping for […]

Meet Jamie Carlson, aka: cerebral palsy quilter, from Oklahoma. That’s her handle on Instagram and TicTok.
I thought you might like to get to know a little more about Jamie. She loves to quilt and she quilts on a Handi Quilter Moxie. She has some fabulous videos on TikTok. We did a short interview via email:
HQ: How did you get started in quilting?
JC: I started sewing 7 years ago when I was put in a wheelchair full time. I have cerebral palsy from the waist down and have had 22 operations on my legs to walk. I ...

read moreLast week I shared a bunch of photos of intricate quilts seen at the AQS Quiltweek in Des Moines, IA. If you missed it, you can see it here. As an educator, the question I get the most is: How do you decide how to quilt something? Checking out the fabulous quilting on these intricate quilts got me to thinking about some intricate quilts that I have done in the past. Quilting intricate quilts, just like any other quilt top, has to be decided on a case by case basis. There is no hard-and-fast rule on how to choose designs ...

Of course I took lots of pictures to share with you. Check out these awesome quilts! (You may see my finger in some of the photos, just to give you an idea of the scale of the pieces. I did not touch any quilts!) This is only a sampling of the fantastic quilts I saw.

I had the distinct pleasure of seeing the PAQA-S 2022 Exhibit at the Sertoma Arts Center in Raleigh, NC this month. PAQA-S is the Professional Art Quilters Alliance-South that promotes innovative art quilts, art cloth, and art garments.
