Me too, I like how I look with them behind me!
Know what these lovely clumps of petals are?

I like soduko and Kakuro puzzles a lot:

this one is very difficult but fun

I wanted to make orange juice cake this week, and had a recipe for orange cupcakes in my Gasparilla cookbook... I thought, I'll just make a cake instead of cupcakes!

The recipe, which by the way didn't tell me how long to bake them or how ...

some colors I used this week while painting!
welcome to this week's short list of likes. I LOVE painting with watercolors!

I liked talking to my friend Cindy this week.  It's like being together almost when we talk. We share so much and she makes my heart lighter.

This week I also talked to Diane in TX and Joy in NC... these three calls made my week much happier.

I am now finished with my creativity and writing/meditation workshops. I learned from each.

I found this person' who is sharing 4 art/meditation workshops, on color, line ...

Welcome! It's Thursday and these are some of my small likes this week, come on in....

I love this cookie jar, and recently unpacked it... the movers hid a lot of our stuff!

would you like to share in the bean harvest? I picked 8 pods, pulled two beans from each, quick steamed them in the microwave and the three of us shared them. That's about it, no new blooms so no more beans... sadly it's been so hot vege don't want to grow

I Like Thursday # 257 from Not Afraid of Color

It's apparently too hot for tomatoes to flower here, but my wildflowers are doing well and I am enjoying them a lot...in a pot... on the pot-io

4 bat blocks done and pumpkins are being made!

I'm doing a mystery quilt called Bats and Boos provided by FatQuarterShop... lots of fun because I'm using my stash of cool fabrics and the pattern tells you exactly what to do. Of course my fabrics might not work in the finished design but then I'll just do my own thing with the cute blocks!

I'm taking an ...

I Like Thursday # 256 from Not Afraid of Color

Welcome to this week's list of likes... I love the wildflowers growing from seeds sown in a pot on the patio...

We have an app that tells you what a flower is, the pink ones are something called mountain garland, the blue is cornflower or bachelor buttons, the yellow are coreopsis, the beautiful white I'm not sure but they are so fresh!

Speaking of fresh we love reisling in summer:

I loved the bottle of reisling we  tried recently...

wouldn't it make a fine quilting pattern?

I am LOVING the synchronized swimming competitions! From the pairs prancing ...

It's time for this week's list of likes! Starting with the great farming experiment that is my life.

Another Gerbera daisy plus some wildflower pots

Finally the daisies are flowering, yellow, white and pink. The wildflower seeds are taking, and seem to be working up to flowers

the packet of seeds said Spring/summer/fall, and we just broadcast them into 5 pots to see what's here.

the basil leaves are basil-ing

welcome to Thursday's list of likes for the week! Small ones add up to gratitude, right?

I like watching the birds but was shocked to see ones perched on my standing flamingo whirligig this week, especially because I moved it to keep them from flying over (and pooping) my patio. I mean what are they looking for in the wildflowers?

bugs at the Daisy Cafe?

We ordered new to us wines for pick up and this cat bottle was one of them, a Riesling. I kept the bottle!

I enjoyed a moment this week looking thru my quilting books ...

I liked this little small watermelon this week, so fresh and sweet.

I loved the zoom with Joy when we both played with paints and inks this week. More on Friday.

time for another list of likes for the week! This is a quilt I unearthed when organizing my finished work, made some years ago. I also found a cute table top quilt stand and put it together...

Right now it's just sitting on my cutting table but I am enjoying looking at it. It was made while leading a group in how to apply ink and paint to fabric. I started by coloring in spheres with oil pastels. I have four brands and the only ones I do not like are shiva (odor and they fade in washer)

I Like #249 surviving the heat from Not Afraid of Color

welcome to this week's list of likes, and number one is the coloring page on my weekly calendar (Joanna Basford)

I didn't know how much I'd enjoy doodling away, shading and highlighting these pages

but I look forward to turning the page to a new week on Mondays!

It didn't take long to finish coloring, so I played with my watercolor pencils on the calendar side drawing flowers I hope to see in my pots soon!

scribble in color, then use water brush to blend

speaking of flowers, we sowed some wildflower seeds last weekend and ...

Welcome to this week's list of likes. Short this week, starting with pin cushions... I made this one from a cute vintage plant holder.

Summer is popping out all over

I planted the beans saved from last year's plants, and some bell pepper seeds, last weekend. Fingers crossed they thrive. It's hot enough!

What?! It's Thursday already?  Welcome to this week's list of likes!

Big surprise... I like Flamingo's and flamingo things. I have a flamingo collection, including this whirligig we got just before we left Maryland but just put together this week. Whee! Then it broke...

oy. You can rest assured I'll be doing something to fix it somehow.

I like soup... make a big portion and have it all week as appetizer. This time I traveled back to the 70's into my high school diet years and made cabbage soup! I added a few things and ...

I Like Thursday # 244 from Not Afraid of Color

Welcome to this week's list of likes!

I liked coloring in this week's calendar  with bright colors!

I used my faber castel markers that are VERY colorful and juicy. They are color limited however and don't blend as well as I am used to with water soluble pencil and markers like the Turbow on the bottom right. Still markers have their place.

I like color and lots of it! I loved drawing a line down the limb with avocado green, hitting it with a water brush and the shadow that happened. Plus I am enjoying adding a ...

Happy Spring!
It's time for I Like Thursday... when we share our list of things big and small that we liked this week...

I am writing this on Wednesday, the day before I was to go for my second vaccine shot. I spoke to the doctor's office today and told her of my reactions to the first shot... hives on legs, inflammation, swollen gums and she said not to get the second dose. Especially as it's given in a non medical facility that is not close to a hospital. I am of ...

It's Thursday and I'm starting my list with coloring in my Joanna Basford weekly calendar. I am using my watercolor pencils this week, even had to resharpen them! For the non painters out there, these look like pencils but when you dab water on the colored page the paints disolve and mix like any watercolor paints! Just an easier application.

I color or paint, shadow and highlight on that week's pic all week long!
