In August I had the privilege of two Girlfriends volunteering to get my studios in shape. Katrina and Cindy came over and weeded through the studio paraphernalia and got me to a state of Nirvana. I don’t have much in the way of before photos, but here are a few from the first 4 months in our new home:

We had no plan of attack other than to get it done. Katrina arrived that Friday afternoon and we started emptying all of ...

Yes, we are now in our new home on top of the ridge. We moved in the weekend of my 65th birthday. The last 5 months have been jam-packed with unpacking, cleaning, sifting through things we haven’t looked at in 3 years…and it’s glorious.
And things are getting settled, slowly—we were only able to take 2 days off when we moved in April, and since then the only time we have had off was when our granddaughter stayed with us for 3 weeks—and that was ...

read moreI had forgotten how much work a website is. I have test patterns to make, swaps to complete, and a whole lot of dyeing and video making to do.
But….here I sit working on my website. At least I can sort of do it when the migraine wanes…. I don’t dare put needle to cloth until it is over.
Back in the fall when I decided NOT to have a website anymore (read previous blog for the sad details), I could not really come up with a good reason to put in all of the work.
Fast forward ...
read moreBack in the fall of 2022, I woke up one morning to a website that was no longer there. It was completely and utterly gone.
I didn’t panic at first, because there is always a backup. Right? Always a backup. Except when there isn’t.
I reachout out to my provider and was informed that my “basic” package did not include automatic backups and how lucky I was that it took 12 years to crash and burn. Somehow I didn’t feel so lucky.
My blog was more like a memory keeper for me, so I wasn’t really ...
read moreSo, this is a post about Quiet Time. As you can tell from this photo, there's lots of resting and quiet time going on here. This was taken at my parents' home in New Hampshire last week. It was Augie's first road trip and he did extremely well in the car; you would have thought that he was a seasoned road-tripper! He rested nicely on his back seat platform and did what he was supposed to do

read moreOh, how we appreciate the prayers and for so many of you reaching out regularly to check on us. Thank you. Prayers are coveted and we believe each and every one is heard! It is difficult to try to explain everything that has happened. We’ve gone from storm to storm to storm; both figuratively and literally. It seems we’ve been in crisis/survival mode for months; most assuredly since last fall. At times ...

Part of the reason for writing this update is to let you all know the status of things and how we are doing. Its difficult to respond to each person individually, so please be patient if you don’t hear from me immediately. We’re dealing with a lot at the moment.

This year, perhaps more than most, I’m glad to see the end of 2022 and I’m looking forward with great expectation to everything 2023 will bring. Don’t misunderstand; there were some exciting things which happened in 2022. I think of friends we met along the way, the ...

Spring has sprung here in my part of Paradise, and last night was time to turn the clocks forward one hour for Daylight Saving time. Our evenings will be little longer, more time to enjoy the balmy early evenings. It must be said that I love Summer.
I’ve been a bit preoccupied lately with several appointments in the lead up to Robin’s knee replacement, and his operation last Tuesday. It went well, I’m pleased to say, and he was home within a few days. He wasn't allowed home until he could get out of bed and ...
read moreIt was an early morning start on Tuesday with the alarm clock set to 5.00am. After Covid had disrupted the hospital surgery lists for the last two years, the day had arrived at last. We departed from home at 6.00am, arrived at the hospital at 7.00am, and Robin was soon settled into his room. Questions asked, tests taken, including the ever important RAT test, and then he was changed into his hospital gown.
Several weeks earlier the surgeon had told us, “Don't get Covid”, and remarked that several patients on the theatre list had to be ...
