2018 Come and Gone from Lisa H Calle's Blog

Seriously 2019, how in the world did that happen?  Just yesterday it was September and Brody was starting school; now we are into the new year.  Boy time flies.   I certainly hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday season.  The holidays in the Calle household were wonderful but way too short.  I’m sad to report that the older boys already headed back at school.  </p>

Happy Chrismahankwanzakah! from Lisa H Calle's Blog

Santa is providing me with an early Christmas gift; I’m heading to the Dominican Republic for a little R&R (I guess Santa thought I was a good girl this year).  So I thought I shouldn’t be the only one getting in the holiday spirit.   That being said, I’m sending a great holiday sale your way.

My present to everyone is a  15% off storewide!  The sale that will run from  Dec 16th through Dec 24th!  My quilting sleigh could be filled with goodies heading your way if you take advantage of my holiday sale.  (my online ...

Turkey..Pie..Nap…Oh MY! from Lisa H Calle's Blog

The sun is shining brightly in Hilton Head where I prepare to tee off for a round of golf; my second love in life. But before I venture into the rolling, green hills composed of 19 holes I wanted to wish all my fellow followers a Happy Thanksgiving.  I hope your plans include eating WAY too much turkey, indulging in a few holiday drinks and slumbering peacefully as Mr. Tryptophan slips you into nappy land.  Those are my intentions for the next 24 hours!

What would Thanksgiving be without including Black Friday and Cyber Monday? So let’s whoop it ...

Lisa Where The Heck Are You? from Lisa H Calle's Blog

I’ve recently received a couple of messages of, “Lisa, where are you?” and “Lisa why haven’t you shown us any love over the past two months?”.  Firstly, I’d like to thank those individuals who sent those kind inquiries.  Secondly, has it really been two months?

I’M WEARING THE ADMINISTRATIVE HAT

Unfortunately, I’ve been fabric deep in completing all the boring, and daunting, administrative aspects of my business.  Nope nothing quilty, or fun has been transpiring in my studio.  I’ve been doing more pencil pushing than threading needles that’s for sure!

Now if you ...

NJ Quilt Fest and Memory Lane from Lisa H Calle's Blog

Thank you Manusco! I’m sure they weren’t aware that selecting Edison, New Jersey as the new venue for the NJ Quilt fest, would bestow upon me a priceless gift.   In addition, I am quite certain they had no idea that they would have my professional and personal lives joining paths for the weekend.

So, believe it or not I actually grew up in the town of Plainfield which is right next to Edison, in fact my high school was in Edison.  Good Ole “Evergreen School” (my elementary school) I remember it felt overwhelming walking the halls as a ...

Here’s To You! from Lisa H Calle's Blog

I am blown away by the number of responses I received regarding feathers.  Thank you so much for all the information that you submitted; I greatly appreciate, and WANT, the input! Rest assured that your valuable insight will contribute to the construction of an amazing feathering class!

Be on the lookout for a new “Feather Ruler”.  You read correctly, in addition to the upcoming class I also have a Feather Ruler in the works!  I still remain firm on the fact that everyone can create these beauties freehand, but a “combination” ruler will also prove beneficial.  This tool can be ...

There are Several “Popabilities”! from Lisa H Calle's Blog

I am about to mention a tool that I am sure that I have made reference to previously.   However, if by any small chance you missed the initial reveal of this tool; I will share with you one more time just how much I LOVE my  Corner Pop tool .

During the last couple of months I’ve been in my studio dedicating time to a special project, along with squeezing in time for my four-year quilt.  The Corner Pop tool and technique has made a huge difference in creating this design.

The photograph below shows the beginnings of the design ...

Why do we never find the time? from QUilting By-You

When it comes to crafting I will sometimes hear people commenting that they wish they could do that (although more often I hear, ask her she’s crafty).  From my friends that already know how to do lots of interesting things I sometimes hear (and I’m guilty of saying it myself) that I wish I had more time to (insert favorite craft here).

That has left me to wonder, why don’t we ever find the time?  Sure there are lots of memes about crafters abandoning their housework/dinner making/families in favor of quilting and sometimes that can ...
