Autumn Jubilee Wool Stitch Along Finish from From My Carolina Home

Time to finish our wool stitch along project. I hope you had time to get your bases done with the apple appliques and buttons. Today we finish it off with a bit of embroidery and some seed beads. When we left off, we were here.

Get out your floss and beads, finding some green to match your leaves, along with red and gold seed beads. If you don’t have seed beads, you can do french knots with the appropriate color floss for a similar look.

Place the piece on a countertop. Center a Mason jar ring on the wool ...

Autumn Jubilee – Sewing Project #1 from From My Carolina Home

Autumn Jubilee is underway and the projects will keep coming all month. Clear the decks, and get ready to have some fun. Today we have a sewing project that will showcase one of the beautiful Benartex Harvest Festival fabrics.

When I unpacked the fabulous Benartex fabrics that they sent for Autumn Jubilee, I saw this fabric with the edge to edge border print design. The first thing I thought of was an apron to take advantage of the fabulous border print. It’s the perfect project to kick off a month of projects featuring Mason jars to wear in the ...

My Storm at Sea quilt is complete!  If you remember, this quilt was only a top when it was my day on the Island Batik Storm at Sea blog hop.  Click here to read my original post.

Disclaimer:  The products used to make this quilt were generously given to me by Island Batik and industry partners.
We had a terrific cloudy day to take photos, all day until I hung the quilt.  Then the sun came out and made tree shadows all over the side of my house and the quilt.  Oh well.  My son said it makes it more ...

Island Batik Ambassador EPP Challenge featuring Sunset Tree from Curlicue Creations

This is my last Island Batik Ambassador project for 2021.  I've been working on this quilt since February.  It has over 1500 hexagons, all made from my Island Batik scraps.

Disclaimer:  The products used to make this project were given to me by Island Batik and industry partners.
The challenge for December was to make an EPP (English Paper Piecing) project using any of our Island Batik fabrics.  The requirement also stated that our projects could be as small as 12" x 12".

I adore English Paper Piecing.  I usually have a project or two going on at a ...

For this blog hop, I was pleased to use this glorious new fabric collection, Fancy Feathers, by Kathy Engle, for Island Batik.  I love all colors, but purples are my favorite.  This collection sings to my heart.

The Island Batik Ambassador July challenge was to make a holiday themed project.  I chose to make a Christmas tree skirt, as I've never had one.  My poor tree has been wrapped in a red and green plaid table cloth all these years.

Disclaimer:  The products used to make this project were given to me by Island Batik and industry partners.

Meet Morning Star.  This is my Island Batik Ambassador challenge project for June.

This month's theme is Spread Love and Joy with Accuquilt.  The guidelines are to create a gift of comfort, using the Accuquilt die we received in our first ambassador box of the year combined with designs from the 8" Qube dies.

Note:  The materials used to create this project were given to me by Island Batik and industry partners Accuquilt, Aurifil, Hobbs, and Schmetz.

Tool Time: Amherst Point from Sew Karen-ly Created...

This month, the Island Batik Ambassadors were divided into two camps:  one group would participate in a blog hop of quilts made from the new collections shipping to stores now, and the rest of us would make a quilt featuring our favourite tool.
Those who know me, can appreciate that this was no easy topic for this no-gadget gal.  Folks are shocked when I announce that I have, and use, just one ruler for all my work.  (It's a 6-1/2" x 24" Omnigrid ruler with markings for 30, 45, and 60 degree angles. If I need an angle ...
