HAPPY SCRAPPERS DO IT AGAIN from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  As usual, we had a fun time.  Above Lee Anne got us all giggling as she went through some project boxes and muttered, "I didn't know I had this."  or "Oh, I forgot all about this."
We watched in awe and giggled with her as she pulled out various items.  Items we all wish we had!
Lee Anne did have some finished projects to show us.  She made a couple pillowcases for her granddaughter Eva.
 This is a close up.
 And this is another one.
What makes them ...

HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEET AGAIN from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Wednesday.  As usual, I have a lot to show you.  Above Cathy shows us this beautiful quilt that she made from UFO blocks.  She let the top flip over so we could see this lovely fabric she used on the back.
And look what she did on the binding.  She used a decorative stitch which adds to the quilt.  I never would have thought of that.
Jill was on her light box copying design.
She has already finished one block.  She used crayons to color it.  As I ...

The Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop this past Saturday.  Therefore, I have lots to show you today.  In fact, there is so much it will continue throughout the week.  This really is a productive group.  Above is the little book that Marilyn made.
This is the inside of the first page of the book.

ANOTHER PERFECT DAY from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

We had another perfect day when the Happy Scrappers met Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above, Marti shows us the cooling neck scarf that she made.  I love the fabric she chose for her scarf.  Marti said in the past she has purchased over a dozen of these and it is nice that she can now make her own.  A reader recently asked where you get the cooling beads.  Cathy is the one who found them for us.  She said you can find them in the flower section of craft stores or in the garden center at home ...

LEARNING, SEWING, SOCIALIZING: A PERFECT DAY! from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

There was a lot of learning and sewing going on when the Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday.  Above Marilyn graciously models a cooling neck scarf that we made.
First we had to sew the tube and turn it inside out.
Above teacher Cathy, instructs Val on how to cut the ends of the scarf.
Then they filled Val's tube with the cooling beads.
This is a close up of them pouring those slippery beads into the tube.
Val and I model our new cooling scarves.  Mine is going to my DIL.
After that ...

JUST USING MY SCRAPS from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

I have finished some projects this past week and want to show them to you.  Above is a quilt that I made from blocks donated by the women in a Bee Hive I participated in last year. As I recall they were asked to use their brightly colored scraps to make these blocks.   I hate the new Picasa photo editor because you can't see the wonderful vibrant colors in this quilt.  If anyone has a better photo editor they can tell me about, please do.  Anyway, I love this quilt and thank the women so much for their blocks ...

WE DO GET THINGS DONE from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and the above picture proves we do get things done.  In an earlier post I showed LeeAnne working on this quilt top.  Today she finished it.  We don't think it needs a border.  This quilt is going to her favorite charity.
Above Adrienne shows another finish. In an earlier post I showed you the blocks Adrienne and I were making.  Adrienne took the blocks home, sewed them together, added the border and made the backing.  Today I took it home to quilt it.  I love the way it ...

HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEETS AT ATTIC WINDOW from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

When the Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Saturday, Val had this stunning quilt to show us. She said it is a Judy Niemeyer pattern called Bali Wedding Wring.  It is paper pieced.
This is a closeup.  Val said that it is a king size quilt that she made for her son.  When I asked her how long it took her to make it, she said that she worked on it for eight hours a day for about six to nine months.  As she talked about making the quilt I could tell that a lot of ...

OLD FRIENDS RETURN! from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

She's back!  It was like old home week when the Happy Scrappers recently met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Several people had returned after a long absence.  We have been missing Rosa for several months and were so glad to see her smiling face again.  Above, Rosa shows us a baby blanket that she is working on.  She made one like it before and decided to make another.  Isn't it adorable.
We were also happy to see Adrienne and her happy smile again after missing her this past winter while she visited warm New Zealand.  More on ...

This is another quilt that Marti just finished.  She was hand sewing the binding on Saturday.  So pretty.

It was a beautiful 59 degrees here in Michigan on Saturday and our attendance was low.  I hear some were on retreat, Rosa was on vacation, Janalee had a wedding to go to, Mary had car trouble and I imagine some ladies ...

The Saturday group of the Happy Scrappers met recently at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above, Adrienne (left) gets a quick lesson from Diana on how to make the Little Jewels tri-fold bag.
Above, Adrienne shows us her finished project.  I think I may have taken her an hour.
This is a close up of Adrienne's bag.  If you would like for Diana to teach you how to make them, give the shop a call.  Several different sizes are included in this one pattern.
Adrienne, who rarely uses a pattern, worked on this project next.

The Happy Scrappers met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  It was so nice to see everyone again.  A lot of people couldn't attend during November and December due to the weather or visiting out of town or whatever.  You know how hectic that time of year is.  Today, the room was full and I loved seeing everyone and catching up.  Judi A. got a new Tablet for Christmas so she had to make a new bag for it.  Isn't it darling!
Cathy M. worked on her Farm Girls block.  It is a milk can.

A TUTE IN PICTURES from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Check out this cute little thread catcher.  That's what I call it, but Saturday when the Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop, Adrienne referred to them as little boxes that she was making as gifts.  She said she was going to stuff them with various items: candy, lotions, etc.  What a clever idea!  The last little box I made like this was slightly different, so I took lots of pictures as Adrienne made her box.
First she started with two squares of fabric, and a square of batting (all the same size).  She sandwiched them together ...
