A Day Working On Genealogy from Quilting My Way

I was up early and ready to go. Where....I had no clue...it was a day at home....ugh

I got some more laundry going and then I pulled out my folder of stuff. That stuff was ancestry stuff. I was going through my pile - and double checking on findagrave.com to make sure I had the right person with the right family member. I also double checked the dates on there. I didn't change dates, because sometimes the grave information is wrong. But it does give me a starting point.

I came across my "TUTTLE" family and ...

A Quiet Day from Quilting My Way

Since I had no plans today, I actually stayed in bed till about 9 am. I just couldn't seem to get up. I often wonder if it's because I'm staying up later, or if I'm going through depression. I'm not wanting to go that direction again. I am finding that I'm not as into playing games as I was. That could be a good sign.

I got laundry going. I washed sheets and towels and put them out on the line. It is always nice to have them hanging on the line. Smells good ...

Genealogy from Quilting My Way

Today I was working on my genealogy today. I had a mess in the computer room with my genealogy. I had file boxes that I needed to get through. I pulled out all 3 boxes, and got to work. I had a lot of stuff to file, and I had some stuff to scan. I scanned and entered documents and photos to my genealogy family tree. Then I pulled out my pile of stuff I needed to add to my genealogy.....which I started to do once the stuff was filed. I had one big mess on the floor. Patrick ...

Spending The Day At The Museum from Quilting My Way

Today I was spending the day at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Chehalis. That is an awesome museum because the personal parts of the displays. I always see something new and I'm told the cases change from time to time, so one doesn't see the same thing every time they go. We had about 28 people go through today. That's pretty good when one figures the average day is about 15. We have programs that are in there as well, so that brings more people. I think our QOV also brings in more people. We even get ...

Actually Enjoyed The Day from Quilting My Way

Today I slept in. I was shocked at how late it was when I got up. Patrick actually got up before me by about 15 mins.

I got some laundry going - and forgot about it - but I'm still working on it. It's comical here.

Then after playing games, we watched a movie - "2 Fast and 2 Furious." Different then I thought, but not bad. Not a movie I would go see. Not into car movies.

I decided since Patrick wanted to watch a movie, I would work on my cross stitching instead of beading today.

This is the ...

1930s fabric from High Road Quilter

Why am I showing you these yo-yos  made from an English rose cottage garden fabric when I have titled the post 1930s fabric? Well, first of all, I don't really know what 1930s fabric looks like. Then I had a fat quarter pack of fabric that looked like it might fit the 1930s theme, at least Shasta style.  I bought two fat quarter packs and this was the other one. I thought these fabrics would fit right in with them since they have a similar pink / blue / green color scheme. So when I started to make the yo-yos, I ...

A Day For Genealogy from Quilting My Way

Cherry and I went walking. We did half of what we normally do. At least we went walking.

Then I came back home and decided I wanted to get some genealogy done. I was working between copies of papers - mostly copies out of a book. I worked on the Perkins family first. Then worked on the Strong family.

By the time I was done, I worked on GYPP, TAYLOR, PERKINS, STRONG, and the off shoot of those families. I found that my 13th gr-grandparents and 12 gr-grandmother are buried in a church aisle in England. In "findagrave" they had a ...

It Turned Out To Be A Good Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and ready to walk. Cherry called and cancelled because of her foot. She has a golf ball size lump on her ankle. So, we decided to wait and see how the afternoon goes.

I played a few games. Then I got side tracked with ordering some fabric for QOV. After that I got side tracked again with genealogy. I worked a little better on my Matheson family as well as the White family. This was interesting. I was working on a White family that really was connected to my White family just yet. It's ...

WIP Inventory from High Road Quilter

Having finished a couple of small quilts, I decided to take inventory of my current works in progress and their current status.  I am hoping that this will help me see that progress is being made during the spring and summer slowdown. These are just the quilts I have been working on in the last few months, and not the other unfinished projects that are stored away.

Some people might be overwhelmed by the number of projects listed here, but I really enjoy getting to choose which project I want to work on. Since they are not standing in a ...

Getting Ready For Tomorrow from Quilting My Way

This morning I enjoyed having the day to myself. The phone didn't ring either. That made for a very good day.

I got started on getting the QOV presentation ready. We have our presentation tomorrow at Sharon Care for Steve Smiley. He is 90 years old. I needed to get the certificate done as well. Once I had all the information I needed, I got side tracked with genealogy.

I was working on Patrick's family. I have been having trouble finding his HANDY family. I found some of them on find-a-grave and was able to find a couple ...

What A Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I had a dream. It was of my father. He was in a bar like area. I knew he had passed on, but when I saw them (two people between us), I couldn't believe it. The person next to me told me not to go, it was a "dream." I had to see, so I walked toward him. He turned to me. I asked if he was real, and he let me touch him. It was real. I looked up and he said, "I know, I'm sorry." I asked how and he told me it took ...

My Day To Myself from Quilting My Way

Today I got up and got laundry started. Then I played a few games. Cleaned up a little.

Then I sat down and mom called. I helped her with some computer stuff. And that's when I got to looking at one of my ancestors...that lead to one thing....then another.

Before I knew it I was entering all about the Little family and then I got off to the Tuttle family. I'm back to the 1600's. I have Tuttle in my family, and I got off in all directions of the Little family.

So, all in ...

Last Week's Quilting Progress and Beautiful Fall Colors from High Road Quilter

It's getting colder so the leaves of our trees are turning color.

I'm going to sneak in a post about my progress for last week before it is time to post this week's progress.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of quilting done.

I had an electrician come by on Saturday work on my porch light fixtures, but I figured I might as well have him check all the outlets while he was here, which meant I needed to rearrange things so he had access to outlets and clean the baseboards and under furniture, etc.  So ...

What A Day! from Quilting My Way

Sophie woke me up around 7:30 am. Guess she didn't want us sleeping in today. She's so used to Patrick being up at 6:30 am that she figured he must be late, I guess. So, I got up and she didn't have much to do with me!

I worked on my games. Then Patrick went out and picked his grapes. I made him wait before he started cooking the grapes for his juice. I made fudge, because Patrick was hungry for it. Chances are it will be all gone by this Thursday, if that. I ...

Another Day For Family History from Quilting My Way

Today I enjoyed the fact that I could sleep in - and I did. Sophie is so sweet, she waits for me to get up. She sleeps not far from me till I decide it's time to get up.

Went over to Cherry's and had some tea. We chatted for a little over an hour. Mom had called and I called her back when I got back home. She was having trouble with her Pogo account. It's something when I can fix it here instead of going to her place and doing it.

I cleaned up the kitchen ...

Worked on Genealogy Today from Quilting My Way

Today was a "me" day. So, I decided to work on my genealogy. When I really got into it, the phone rang, and I talked to Ruth for over an hour. Then I talked to mom for a few more minutes.

So, after supper, I went back on my computer and worked more on the family history. I worked more on the Wineland, Matheson, Campbell, and a lot of "off shuts" to the tree. I added a couple letters to the "Letters of the Past" which is another one of my blogs.

So, in reality, I was not able to ...

Spending The Day With Mom from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and ready to go.

I started out by hitting 2 banks, stopping to see Sandy for eggs, and the to moms. I figure we would spend Wednesdays together. I want to enjoy her while I can. So, when I arrived, we headed out to Walmart. She needed batteries for her car key and I needed to pick up a "Chromecast" for the TV. We got what we needed then headed over to Micheal's. She heard there was a quilt frame there. She's really wanting a quilt frame for when she is in Las ...

A Busy Day Compared To Others from Quilting My Way

I woke to my Sophie meowing to get me up. We went through that part of the day today. Finally cleaned her litter box and she quit talking to me! Go figure! Guess she likes a clean litter box. I've been cleaning it more than I ever did with my other cats.

I went downstairs today to work on some of my applique pieces.

I pulled out the light box and worked on some pieces for my Baltimore Liberty quilt. I worked on 3 blocks. I copied the pattern to the appli-quick fabric. I have 3 blocks worth of ...

Adoption In The Works from Quilting My Way

Today was an interesting day all around.

I went walking with Cherry this morning. We only got about 3 laps in, because her back was giving her fits. We didn't want to push it.

Came home and got moving on the laundry. It was backing up quiet a bit. I'm happy to say that I'm close to being finished.

While working on the laundry, I was working on the family history. I started on Patrick's side of the family. The BANTA family. It's amazing what this family was all about. Some died by Indians, some ...

Still Running Around from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up early. I tried to contact Cherrill but she wasn't home. My morning was busy with cleaning the carpet one more time. Then I went next door to see my neighbor but she wasn't home either. Once the carpet was clean, I hid in the back room working on my bookkeeping. At least that is now up to date.

I then got moving and went to the bank, Phil's, Staples, and then to moms.

Mom wanted me to be there for the funeral director from the National Cemetery that wanted to come and ...
