The blocks seem to float as she used the same cream for ALL the block backgrounds and I love the effect!

She worked created this gorgeous book with all the blocks, and 10 bonus projects using single blocks, it's so cool!

And I decided.....

Since I have been married this all changed! My husband has been in the Recreational Vehicle industry for over 20 years, and is always able to take a trailer or Motor home to use. My kids have absolutely loved it! We’re getting ready to head out again, and summer camping brought me to this weeks deal! I have so many outdoor ...

Below are some Christmas shirtings that will make a nice table runner or topper.

Pinwheels Repurposed from Gray Barn Designs

This past weekend, I was cleaning up my sewing room after a recent flurry of creativity.  After finishing my Patriotic Pinwheels GBD 05 24 18 table runner, I had a few leftover pinwheel blocks.

Since pinwheels are one of my favorite blocks, I just couldn’t bear to throw them in a scrap pile never to be seen again until 2028!  So…I made a few July 4th greeting cards.

I had some blank note cards on hand and used a decorative stitch to sew the pinwheels to the cards.  I did snip all those loose threads, just in case ...

Flutterby Blue – A Free Quilt Pattern from Gray Barn Designs

I’ve mentioned my sewing room clean up in previous posts. Norma, my Bearded Collie was telling me in her subtle way that I needed to get a handle on all these scraps.

Since a lot of my scraps were smaller pieces, I cut them into convenient 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 inch squares.  After taking inventory, I had a lot of 1.5 inch squares to create something fun.

What to do?  I made a butterfly!

Wall Hanging or Table Topper…you get to choose!

I know sewing all these 1.5 inch squares together may seem ...

Muse Magic: "Flower Child" Fabric Collection from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Did you ever believe in magic as a child or would pretend to live in an enchanted land? When I was around seven years old, I distinctly remember watching the Disney movie “Peter “Pan” and instantly believing in fairies mainly because of the character “Tinkerbell.” It was during this time as well that I was having frequent visits by “the tooth fairy," so how could you not believe that fairies existed?! I remember that same year, I was also “Tinkerbell” for Halloween and even made my own bottle of “pixie dust” that was a little glass bottle with cork top ...

Tropical Flight – A FREE Quilt Pattern from Gray Barn Designs

My $5 batik charm pack was the basis for this easy, beginner friendly quilt design.  I wanted to make the border interesting and unique.  What do you think?

In my March 29, 2018 post, I asked you, our readers, which color(s) would work best with my batik charm squares.  The vote tallies were equally split between the lime green and the navy…so why not use both?

The green is Moda Grunge Basics Key Lime and the blue is Wilmington Essentials Crackle Navy.  This strong, dramatic color combination is a show stopper when combined with the batiks.  I’m ...

$5 Friday: Hibiscus E2E from Wasatch Quilting

$5 Friday

As I’ve been preparing for a graduation next week, I’ve noticed a growing trend in the United States is the giving of Leis to High School and College Graduates to wear with their cap and gowns to graduation ceremonies.  In Hawaiian culture , leis are presented as people are coming or leaving, and are a symbol of affection. There are many beautiful flowers that can be put in a Lei, one of the most gorgeous being the Hibiscus! Therefore, our theme this week is centered around the Hawaiian culture, and the Hibiscus. This E2E has never before been in ...
