Fun Way to Use a Panel :: A Tutorial from Alamosa Quilter

I had an idea recently for a fun way to use a panel. With the help of one of my talented employees, Peg, I was able to get two samples made.

For the first one we used the entire panel. It's a bit long, but for taller folks or certain projects where you need more coverage, it works well. It is unlined. In addition to the panel, you'll need 1/4 yard of fabric for the ties (1/3 yard if you want to make your ties longer).

For the second one we shortened the panel. It is ...

Free Block of the Month 7—Primrose from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

Ahh, spring!!! One of my (Kara) favorite seasons, because of the beauty spring provides after a long and gloomy winter. Unfortunately, she is somewhat fickle in her actual arrival. Here in Germany, we are seeing signs, in between the rain and snow, that give us hope that Mistress Spring is on her way. One of those signs is that the primroses are springing (pun intended) from the ground—even through the snow.

We are fortunate to live near a beautiful orchard area full of trails. Within that orchard are divisions of the land that are owned or leased by individuals ...

English paper piecing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

While I didn't get everything done yesterday that I had hoped (I was hoping to have another customer quilt quilted), I'm still on track. It's going to be heads-down for the next couple of weeks until that long arm goes in for servicing. Then I can have three to four weeks of doing nothing! As if!

I did get that huge customer quilt completed the day before.

Customer quilt - DONE
I still need to trim it, but as I have three in total for the same customer, I'll wait and trim later this week.

It's quilt block tutorial time, which is one of my favorite things to do for every New AGF Fabric Collection. From the Heart Mini- All Things Mini Tutorial from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hey Makers,

To end February on the right note  I wanted to share with you my mini of the month. Being inspired by Valentine's Day  and all the things I love, I created the "From the Heart" Mini.

I created four heart blocks with borders in a variety of different fabrics. I tried to stay in the Valentine spirit by choosing some yummy coral pinks and mixing it up with some warm oranges and black and white prints.

In some of the hearts I added fussy cut elements to show off all the things that  I love and that ...
