Autumn Jubilee Quilt Along Finale from From My Carolina Home

I hope you are enjoying the Mason Jar inspired quilt along, with fabrics from Benartex’s Harvest Festival line. Today we are going to talk about the finishing, with some ideas for labeling. When we left off, the quilting was done and it was ready for binding.

I thought the plaid in the brown and rust tones made a perfect frame for the piece. I made the binding in the usual way, using 2-1/2-inch strips. I stitched the binding to the front, just a bit deeper than the 1/4-inch most use. My main sewing machine foot is a ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ 2022 ~ Week 3 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ 2022 ~ Week 3

I love scrappy quilts and treasure all my fabric scraps.

One of the ways I used to increase my scraps when I was a new quilter was to swap small pieces of fabric with other quilters online. Very often I ran the swap so I so I could collect many different scraps. The blue and white snowflake and snowman fabric that I am using for my QATW Winter Mystery Quilt were collected in such a swap.  Friends sent the 10" squares of fabric to me and I swapped and sent their new ...

This is Holiday Flourish by Robert Kaufman fabrics. I paired it with a golden Bella Solid from Moda.

Aren’t these prints luscious? I pulled a variety of lights, mediums and darks to make my ...

Low Volume Quick Quilt from From My Carolina Home

These pretty pastels were part of a box of fabrics that a friend of mine was destashing. I thought they were lovely, soft and perfect for a little quilt for charity.

I originally planned to write this up for a guest blogger post for another blogging event, but I changed my mind and decided to show it here. I actually started it a couple of weeks ago during a Zoom Virtual Retreat.

This is an easy and fast way to put together a quilt top, just sew long width of fabric strips together in any width you want. These are ...

Jolly Bar Row Along from From My Carolina Home

Recently, Fat Quarter Shop told their associate bloggers that the newest Jolly Bar Book was on the way, and it released this week.  Just for fun while we are all stuck at home, nine bloggers were invited to Row Along using some of the patterns in the book.  With the Scrap Dance Twist mystery wrapping up in mid-May, I thought it would be fun participate.  The Jolly Bar Book Vol 2 is available now at FQS.  We got the book in advance so we could begin the blocks.  Isn’t this cute, the book is the same size as a ...
