006 - A Finish To Show You from Silly Goose Quilts

I've not just been resting on my laurels over the last six months.  I've been Finishing. Some. Stuff. Off.

I have a feeling I've shown you this before, but it might not have been finished totally.  It's totally bound, labelled stitched on, all good to go.

I even machine quilted this myself on the long arm.  I did okay.  Bit wonky but okay.

I had grand plans to go once a week to Mum's house and get good at long arm quilting.  But like all of my craft plans, I ran out of day and ...

2019: The Year in Stitches from Life In Pieces

Just a few more hours left in 2019, in some parts of the world it's already 2020.  I've already posted about my stitchy goals for 2020 to go along with Quilting JetGirl's Planning Party post.  But I didn't include my 2019 accomplishments in that post.  So before the calendar turns over to 2020, here's a summary of this year's accomplishments.

1.  Quilt Plan Progress.  The plan included 12 quilts to be finished and six new projects to be started.

Four quilts from the plan were finished:  Inverted Star, 2018 Christmas Mystery, Christmas Angels and ...

Playing With Color (More Catching Up!) from The Quilting Hermit

I've made several Mod Mosaic quilts (back between 2010-2012), though I apparently only blogged about one of them as a WIP. Still, it's a super fun block to do with scraps. When my quilt guild put out a call for quilts to auction at the quilt show in February of 2017 I made two mini mosaic quilts. The theme for the show was the color red, so I did both with my red scraps and did one with white spacers and one with black. I backed both with a plain unbleached muslin, nothing special, and bound them in ...

Last Catch-Up...of 2018 from The Quilting Hermit

I managed to squeak out one last finished quilt before things got really hectic (understatement of the century) and then we moved across the country. Here's the last one I finished in Texas:

More strings!
I keep waiting to run out of strings. It hasn't happened yet.

I didn't get a clear overall shot of the back of the quilt, but you can see the print better here anyways. The dots are another Thomas Knauer print.

Another of Mrs. Mary Lee's quilts ~~ finished from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

I am happily reading Boris Pasternak's Doctor Zhivago. It's slow going—I'm on page 113 of 560but the story is getting more interesting as I advance. Pasternak won, but declined, the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1958 for this volume about Russian life beginning with the Bolshevik Revolution moving through World War I to 1930. One reason that the novel is a struggle is that I have to stop and research events, people, terminology, and so on, quite often. It's a big undertaking, to say the least. Why am I doing it? That's another ...

Cherrywood Fabrics Van Gogh challenge - a finish! from Closet Quilter

I have really enjoyed seeing the last two challenges hosted by Cherrywood Fabrics.  There was the Wicked challenge (see pics HERE) and last year, the Lion King challenge was phenomenal!

Lion King Cherrywood Challenge at Road 2 CA

While at Road to California in January, I was intrigued with the idea of entering this year's challenge - inspired by Van Gogh.  But I don't think I actually purchased the fabric bundle until QuiltCon in February.  I lacked the confidence and was worried about lack of time as well.  In the end, the colors won me over.  Who could resist the lovely blues??

In true "Jen form", I ...

Finish: Finding Home from Play Crafts

I’m alive! I don’t know how often I’ll realistically be able to post to the blog, but I have a few finishes to share that I hope to at least get posted. It turns out starting a new career is exhausting and overwhelming and a lot has happened over the last few months since moving to Orlando. But I’m slowly starting to get my sea legs and finding pockets of free-ish time.

But for now, I wanted to get some of these finishes posted.

Shortly after QuiltCon 2015, I contacted the MQG and asked if they ...

Some fun, quick and easy finished projects! from Living4Quilting

Here are some projects that I've been working on last week.  I finished this quilt  and I really like it.  I don't normally like square quilts but I like this one because of the beautiful flower fabric on it.  It really looks like Fall to me.

Here's three other table runners I finished.  These are for Christmas this year. I'll keep one and give the other two to my sweet daughter-in-laws.

These are the table runners I made at the guild workshop I went to on Saturday last weekend.  This pattern is referred to as a ...

Modern Double Cross {a finished quilt} from Never Just Jennifer

This is the year of finishing things.  According to my blog history this quilt was imagined and started in February 2014 in the form of a tutorial for both 12 and 6 inch blocks for my turn as queen bee of We Bee Learning.  My cousin was graduating from High School that spring and I needed a quilt.

The blocks quickly came pouring in from across the country and, with the addition of a few more on my end, were ready to be pieced into a top by May.  Since the colors were so saturated I really felt ...
