Witchy Stitchy Blog Hop from Quilted Delights

Welcome to the opening day of the Witchy Stitchy Blog Hop hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt.
I am happy to help start the week!

For this hop I focused on making small fabric decorative items.  One was done in less than an hour and the last one I split up in three days.

First up I have some small treat totes to show off.  I have made these before and even for a previous Halloween hop years ago, but I love them and had new ones to show off, so here they are again.  They are super ...

Child's Play - Island Batik September Challenge from Quilted Delights

The September challenge for Island Batik Ambassadors was to make a child's quilt using one of the dies sent to us by AccuQuilt.

AccuQuilt has dies that cut a whole quilt block on one die, they are called Block on Board dies or BOB for short.  I was given the Crossed Canoe die to play with.

This 10 in stack of Kaleidoscope fabric came in my ambassador July box from Island Batik and it is the perfect fabric line for a bright cheery kid quilt.

I cut a 6 inch square out of each 10 inch square and ran ...

Pink Bricks - 2nd Finish for Q3 FAL from Quilted Delights

My second finish for Q3 of the 2019 Finish-A-Long.  Wow, I can't believe it! Two finishes already this quarter.  I have already doubled last quarter finishes.  Haha!

I think it helped my sew-jo by putting small, almost completed projects on the list.  This one had been a top waiting for quilting.  It is about 34 x 40 inches. Once I got it on the machine, it only took about 35 minute to quilt using this all over quilt design.

I started this one sometime in 2018.  I think in the spring.

This is one of the few that I ...

Quilts of Valor Blog Hop Featuring Freedom by Island Batik from Quilted Delights

Welcome to the final day of the Quilts of Valor Blog Hop, hosted by Jen of Dizzy Quilter

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

This past November I happened upon a Quilt of Valor Ceremony during the city's yearly Jingle Bell Market.  I had never been to one, so I sat down to see what it was all about.

I had heard of Quilts of Valor and knew of their mission, but had never actually witnessed anyone getting a quilt ...

Results from Teaching a Beginner Quilt Class from Quilted Delights

I started teaching a beginner quilt class at the beginning of this year. These 9 patch quilts are the first project we worked on. As the teacher I sew along with the class and make what they are making.

What made me decide to start this class was the phrase, "I wish I could quilt."  Over the past year I  have heard that phrase a lot when talking to people about my quilts.

I would respond, "If you can sew a straight line you can quilt." Sometimes I would add, "If you are really interested, I can teach you."  Sometimes ...

One Block Wonder - Blue Heron Panel from Quilted Delights

This is my second One Block Wonder using a panel

I saw this Panel made into a OBW on the One Block Wonder Quilt Forum Facebook Group and knew I had to make one.

The first panel I used last fall on the Halloween OBW  had a border around the panel.
This time I wanted to skip the border and have the hexagons blend with the panel.

I cut my original strips 2 3/4 inches and got a lot of small hexagons to work with.
I used almost all of them for this quilt.

Finding the perfect layout took ...

Friday Finishes...... Finally from Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

I have been wanting to write a post for the past couple weeks and just haven't got around to it till now. These past few weeks have been a little challenging for me. My mom have had many doctor appointments and one of them was to see the Oncologist to go over her CT scan. They found spots, small ones, on her lungs. And she'll have another scan in March to see if they were just due to an illness she had couple months ago or if the cancer has come back. Fingers crossed with many prayers.

 That ...
