Enjoying The Morning With Mom And The Quilters from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and out the door. I had a couple things I needed to do. I even went to get some pen refills at Staples to find out I got the wrong one. PLUS, one of my favorite pens couldn't be opened to put a replacement in it. So, that didn't help. I may need to get another one tomorrow or wait till the next time I go.

Went to moms and there were 6 of us. Ethel didn't make it. She's been going through a few things lately, and since she's ...

These Two Buddies from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I’ve shared this before but just because these pictures crack me up, I’ll share it again. When we got Cooper, Vince was concerned that Oscar wouldn’t like him. Oscar can be a bit difficult. Cooper is energetic and can be aggravating and Oscar isn’t very patient but I felt like IF Oscar was a problem,...

A Saturday Visit from Jo's Country Junction

On Saturday our daughter Kayla called and asked if I was up for a visit…ALWAYS! So I started scrambling to think of something I could make that I could eat and they could eat. Hmm. I called our daughter Kalissa to let her know and to say if she wasn’t working, maybe they wanted to …

Little Cooper from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Vince thinks Cooper is heavy but Vince doesn’t carry Oscar around! Oscar has to go to the vet in April. I’m afraid to see what he weighs. We’re working on getting a few pounds off but he does love to eat. Oscar has always been like a little tank but Cooper seems a bit more...

Went To Embroidery And Moms from Quilting My Way

This morning I was wondering if we were going to have a meeting since it was snowing when I got up. Sent a text to Sandy but she didn't answer, so took a shower. Came out and it was raining. Patrick didn't go golfing because of the snow. Sent another text to Sandy saying I guess I will be there.

Headed out the door. Stopped at the bank and then headed to Connie's. She had 3 quilts done. When I got to Harrison Ave, the traffic was blocked in all the lanes. There was a car accident ...

Drama Overload from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I once had a “friend” on Facebook who unfriended me and said “You have too much drama in your life!” I thought . . I have very little drama in my life but last night, I thought to myself . . she was right! There’s too much drama in my life and just when the...

Weekend with the Grands from Jo's Country Junction

I thought I was going to have Friday and Saturday with the grandkids home last weekend but the plans kind of changed. They were coming on Friday and we all were going to go rollerskating. Then…Jasper, our daughter Kayla’s son, broke his collar bone when he fell down some stairs. Poor guy. He’s the first …

A New Home for the Froggies from Romany Quilting

Baby Jack has arrived - the first grandson of Robin's sister Kaye and her husband Jan.  That was certainly exciting news and we caught up with Kaye for lunch while she was staying with the new parents and baby to offer a helping hand.  Luckily I had a baby quilt  tucked away for a new arrival, wrapped it up and took it to our lunch date.

What's in the parcel?

Robin's younger brother Gary and his wife Debbie came along for lunch too, and Kaye was sitting inside at the table waiting for us.  So it was quite ...

Oscar Is A Good Sport! from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Every day Oscar seems to get a bit more patient with Cooper. I wonder if Oscar knows what a happy, sweet little guy Cooper is. I wonder if Oscar knows what a grumpy dog he is! When Cooper decides he’s going to do something, he doesn’t stop til it happens. Oscar was sleeping next to...

These Two Dogs from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

You’ve all probably surmised that Oscar, even the grown up Oscar, is pretty high strung. When I first started talking about getting a puppy, Vince was really concerned that Oscar might not like a puppy and might not be nice to him. I was confident that we could work through any differences Oscar had with...

Grown Up Oscar from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I had been expecting Oscar to behave by the time he was a year old so I was pretty disappointed in December, 2022 when he turned one and was still wild and crazy as ever. Several of you told me . . nope, wait til he’s two or even three. I wasn’t sure I would...

Always Enjoy Friends from Quilting My Way

This morning was embroidery day. I do enjoy going to embroidery to be around good friends. Cindy and Sandy were already there. It was odd today though. Cindy didn't talk much so we were wondering what was going on with her. Sandy and I worked on our class embroidery pieces. Cindy left and Sandy and I chatted for another hour.

Sandy started out with the thicker thread. I believe that was Lola. I started with Lola yesterday and when I took everything out, I started with the Iris that was supposed to be for that. I like the Lola ...

A Whimsical Finish from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. It felt like a busy day yesterday, although it doesn't seem as if I have much to show for it. I was bothered by my left wrist for much of the day. It sometimes happens when I've been quilting. A few days ago, I noticed it was bothering me. By the time I was ready to do any sewing, it was feeling better and I forgot all about it. Then, yesterday the pain came back with a vengeance, and I ended up immobilizing it around noon. It doesn't hurt unless I move it ...

A Welcome Day at Home from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. To read the title of this post, you might think that I'm running around town all the time...every day. In fact, I'm home most days. Sometimes a whole week passes, and I don't leave the house. It's how I like it. Formerly a very busy person, I'm happy to claim my hermitry. So going out twice in the same week...two days in a row, with no vacation in between...it was a sad thing. Staying home gave me plenty of time to sew. Wanna see what I did?

Okay ...

A Perfect Day from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. We couldn't have asked for a better day of weather for opening day of the Beaverton Farmers Market. The market opens at 10:00 a.m., and no sales can occur before the literal ringing of the opening bell. Erik and Mae were determined to get some oysters. Oysters will sell out within the first hour of opening the market, and so we were hanging out...hovering, you might say...first in line for some oysters. While we waited, a bald eagle flew overhead and landed in a nearby tree. I had only my phone ...

Sweet Little Cooper from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

First, sweet little Cooper gave me the night off from stitching because he chewed the magnifier light cord into two pieces. He did it while sitting right here next to me. So much for the attentive dog mom. Oscar had already chewed a few little “nicks” into the cord so I ordered a new cord...

A Spoiled Dog from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

How did we get to this point? Oscar will only eat if his bowl is on the sofa and he’s sitting on my lap. I’ve always said they (kids or dogs) would eat when they get hungry and that’s true but Oscar will whine and cry and run in and bump me with his nose,...
