Dizzy With Laughter from Adele Mogavero

Do you remember when you were a kid, spinning around in circles until you were so dizzy you fell down? And giggled and laughed when you tried to walk. Throwing all your cares aside (if indeed you had any) giving into the joy of life ....

Discoveries from From the Strawberry Patch...

It's been a weekend of discoveries just outside the door. These precious little pink blooms appeared on the top of a lemon-scented geranium that I planted in a pot out on the patio. The flowers are truly secondary, I bought the plant as a natural mosquito repellent, it's grown quite large (from now on I'll realize that it needs its own pot as it has taken over and crowded out the Million Bells

With Grace, Love, And Fellowship from Adele Mogavero

Grace, Love, and Fellowship. I think it’s a perfect description of quilting. Especially when you’re creating something and gifting it to someone. It’s an expression of love. The three blocks we’re creating this week are so similar, it seemed like a great idea to do ....

It’s Not About Perfect from Adele Mogavero

For as many times as I’ve made a block with triangle units in it, even with perfect piecing methods, sometimes things don’t work out so good. Sure, I could have tossed it aside and created a new block. But I didn’t. It is what it ....

Abiding in faith from Quilt in Piece

Greetings in Christ! We are fast approaching the Day of Pentecost, in just one week, which will end the Season of Eastertide. And I find myself reflecting upon the texts from our readings from Ascension day, including tomorrow’s readings. For many, the lockdown has been a trying time for many reasons, and there is no end in sight. People are hungry, cold, sick, dying, lonely, depressed, losing jobs, struggling financially and this all includes the church communities. The pastors are working harder than ever, to keep everything and everyone together and a sinking ship afloat. In last weeks reflections ...

The Four Patch and God’s Purpose from Adele Mogavero

The four patch block is a basic quilt block. But it’s everywhere. And those sophisticated blocks, that make quilts move and dance? They’d be nothing without the behind the scenes work of this simple block. Sometimes it’s the ones that aren’t noticed that add to ....

Marching in Two By Two from Adele Mogavero

Can you picture it? A humongous boat with pairs of animals walking into it? Two By Two? Every living creature on the earth? It must have been a sight to see. Personally, I could have done without the biting insects and snakes. And by the ....

1000 from Lovin' Life At The End Of The Dirt Road

I never had a vision when I began this little blog in September 2007. I just wrote because I loved writing and I wanted to document our days. What we did. How we cooked. Where we lived. Who we were. And I never really thought about folks stopping by to visit. But you did. And you do. And thank you for doing so. This dirt road will always welcome you So I thought I ought to document the
