Watchin’ Grass Grow 5, 6 from Virtual Quilter

I have been spending many hours in my real garden, and there are some weeds growing like crazy, but not many anymore!

Meanwhile the virtual weeds look as though they have been growing like crazy, getting a little bit overgrown.

Looks like the weeds have thinned out a bit, and I like the thinned out view better!

The blocks in this project file were just a low inspiration play time in Electric Quilt, but the ‘weeds’ might also be desirable grassy clumps amongst floral blocks in a future new project. They could also be fillers in floral arrangements. Pity life ...

Annie Clover Quilted 15, 16 from Virtual Quilter

Love the first design.

The star at the centre of the first design becomes the quilting motif for an almost whole cloth design.

Log Heap 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 from Virtual Quilter

Three blocks combined, all constructed exactly the same way, with all dark, all light and half light, half dark.

The colours I have used are not particularly attractive but I was concentrating on finding how many ways I could mix up those three blocks in overall designs.

I have found many times that if the contrast is right, I will admire quilts made with any combination of colours.

Even scraps can be sorted into light, medium and dark so that they make a nice design into a stunning quilt.

The advice I would give if sorting for Log Cabin blocks ...

EQ Album Revisited 20, 21, 22 from Virtual Quilter

Love it!

The original block from the Electric Quilt block library used in these designs has been heavily modified, and converted to quilting motifs.

But love this one too … and I cannot pick a favourite.

The only change is the background colour and I would choose between the two based on what bedroom they were going to be used in. However, I made the quilt for our bed for a totally different bedroom from the one we had when I started making it, and the three or four it has been in since!

Love the last one too!

Virtual Challenge … Electric Quilt Library System from Virtual Quilter

Edit When you have something to show after having fun, you can now share your results in Virtual Quilt Challenges, a closed Face Book group for members only. You will have to answer three questions so I can decide if you can join.

After many years, and thousands of blocks, My Library in Electric Quilt is a mess. I have made a New Year resolution to sort it all out. I have made several attempts over the last few years, but often finish up more confused than I was before, so I hope to get some order into the chaos ...

EQ and Me at Christmas 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

I like it!

The blocks in this project file are straight out of the Electric Quilt Block library.

I prefer my Christmas decor to be clear and bright red, white and green, but would accept that is was once much righter, but has been loved and used, and so washed, many times and has faded.

The second design for the day lacks some quilting!

So, two things to work on for next Christmas. Add some quilting to this project, and start a new project for those who like a blue and white Christmas.
