Before COVID hit I would begin the day by going to the gym, riding a stationary bike for 30 – 45 minutes, perhaps taking a 45 minute high intensity workout class before heading home. So when the gym closed I figured I’d landed on a “free space” meaning I’d start my exercise routine again once… Continue reading Exercise in the Time of Covid

Introducing a New Design!
from Where Art & Life Meet
Yesterday I launched my latest design, Making Waves: A Drawstring Bag in my Etsy Shop! I also made a short video for it. My instructions are very, very detailed. I include everything from how to begin, to how to stitch this bag together and film all stages of the process. YouTube videos demonstrate every step… Continue reading Introducing a New Design!

Finishing a Project, Pat Pauly & a Note to my Mom
from Where Art & Life Meet
I’ve been busy. My Zoom class: Making Waves ~ A Drawstring Bag, which was an eight week “stitch along” is concluding today. We had SO much fun! Two Drawstring bags
from Quilting Stories
Since my first drawstring bags, shown here, I became addicted to sewing bags! For those ones I did not follow a tutorial, but I was inspired by pictures on Pinterest and by the tutorial I used previously from Threading My Way
As regards those two fabrics, I am so happy that I found a way to use them, and I think that the result is quite satisfying. They were in my stash for years, and seeing them from time to time I was wondering what was the purpose of buying such a kind of printed fabric. I find them lovely ...

Knitting Project Bag
from Quilting Stories
After seeing many such bags on Pinterest and Instagram I decided to sew my own knitting bag.
I chose this lovely printed canvas from Elanbach which has a good firmness required for this kind of project. Very pleased with this first bag I will sew some others using plain canvas from my stash.
Until now I did not buy any new material. The purpose is : using all the stuff I have at home and decluttering.
On the last picture I displayed my new knitting bag next to a shawl I knitted and a cross stitch embroidery I achieved in 2012.

Making a Patchwork Drawstring Bag
from Sew Paint It

I cut them into quarters giving me 4 squares of each fabric which were 2.5". I then arranged them and sewed them together to make 6 squares wide and 7 squares high.
I then quilted it with a pink fabric on the reverse and quilted 0.25" from each side of ...
