American Flag Quilt...finished from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Finished up this awesome quilt for a friend.  It was a fun little quilt top to quilt.  I also got the binding completely finished on it as well.
A close up of the quilting...
It was backed with fleece which really shows the quilting.  I love the texture that fleece gives.
Richard was off yesterday and did a few much needed things around the house.  Then he and Hunter went to pick up his bow (archery).  He had to have a new string and stuff on it.  Once he got home he target practiced for hours.  LOL!

Then in the ...

The American Flag Quilt... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Last night I got this awesome American Flag quilt loaded on the frame.  I got the quilting started but it was very hot up there so I stopped.
This belongs to a friend of mine.  It's not real big so it shouldn't take me just a few minutes to quilt it.  I'll finish it up this morning before it gets too hot up there and then I will remove it and do the binding today as well.
I am quilting this with my Becker's Stars or Becker's Shooting Stars panto.  I don't exactly remember ...

Trimming up... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Yesterday I trimmed up my SIL's hexie quilt so that I could start on the binding.  I really didn't have to trim that much off.  I was planning on doing a scalloped edge on it but the hexies just didn't fall right and it would not come out even.  So I will be doing a straight edge.
 Trimming the other side...
This is how the edges turned out before binding.  This morning I will sew the binding strips together and get them sewn on and then do the handwork.
Another pic of this beautiful quilt that she ...

Another one finished... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Another customer quilt finished!  I don't have to do the binding on this one so it is ready to head back to it's owner in NC.  I loved this quilt.  I guess the colors were just soft and reminded me of spring.  I kept thinking that the whole time that I was quilting it.
I quilted it with the Mint Julep panto.  It is one of my favorites. This was a large quilt something like 98x98.
I didn't get my kraut finished yesterday but I will today.  :(  I was busy quilting, mom went to visit her uncle ...

This is going to be a busy day! from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Yesterday was a good productive day!  I got about half of this beautiful king size quilt top quilted!
I am using a panto called, Mint Julep.  I love this panto and it is a big one...somewhere around 15" or so.  I don't remember exactly without looking at it.
I hope to get it finished today and off the frame.  I don't have to do the binding on this one.  I usually end up doing the binding on 90% of the quilts that I quilt and I do it by hand.  So that keeps me busy too.  I ...

Finally!...this baby is off the frame! from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Finally!...this baby is off the frame! was on there way too long but all my fault.  This is the beautiful Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt made by my SIL, Kellie.
She worked on it on and off for about 2 years.
I don't remember the exact size but it is a large Queen.  All fabrics in this quilt are from the Paisley Park collection and Warm & White batting.  This baby is heavy!
A pic of the back.  I quilted it with the Lush Leaves panto.  Now to square the edges and get the binding on it ...

Quilting and Camping from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

My weekend pretty much consisted of this!  LOL!  I had to pick it out because I had a big pleat in the backing.  No clue how I did that.  I've been longarming for about 9 years and this is a first and I'm hoping my last.  LOL!  I'm a little past the halfway point on it now.
 A closeup...
Richard was off this weekend so Friday night he and Hunter spent some much needed father/son time together.  They went camping!  I stayed home and picked out that quilt.  LOL!
They set up camp in the middle ...

GRRR.... I'm so aggravated. from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

I can't begin to tell you how aggravated that I am right now!  I should have had this quilt finished days ago.  If you remember, I am on a tight schedule this month.  Look what I am doing now...picking it out!  Yep!
I've been a longarmer for 8 or 9 years now and never have I ever had a pleat on the back until now!  Wouldn't you know, it had to happen now.  I don't understand how on earth that I did that.  You can see it in the pic below, it's huge!  Yes ...

Casually custom from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I found a very interesting article yesterday that I'll share with you hopefully tomorrow.  It relates to what I posted yesterday.

Even though I seem to be burning the candle at both ends, I'm loving every minute.  I still have customer quilts to get quilted. The key is how to get things done in a reasonable time frame.

I'm down to quilts for only TWO customers.  Although there are more than two quilts!  There are some tasks about quilting that I'm not fond of and I procrastinate about them. Putting bindings on for instance - hated it ...

Fancy Fox...Block 1 from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

So here is my first block of the Fancy Fox quilt.  Very fast and easy!  I am making this for a customer as she wants it for her grandson due in a few months.  I got it all cut out yesterday and did one block just to see how it was going to go.  Very easy block so it shouldn't take me long to piece the top.  I'll work on it a block or two at a time during the evenings.
A little peak of my SIL, Kellie's quilt on the longarm.  I didn't get much ...

Quilting Delay... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Oh what a day! plan was to get half of this hexie quilt quilted yesterday and that didn't happen.  I mentioned before that I am on a very tight schedule this month so I really didn't need this delay.  :(
After getting it loaded on the longarm all I was getting was thread breaks.  I quilted a pass of about 18" and broke thread 8 times during that.  I was just sick!  Long story short, I am quilting it with Warm & White batting and I had the wrong side of the batting up!  Yep!  Picked it out ...

Busy Day... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

I worked hard yesterday getting everything ready to load this beautiful quilt top on the longarm.  This is the beautiful hexie quilt made by my SIL, Kellie.  I didn't have it loaded on in this pic so I will post a full pic of it soon.  All fabrics in this quilt are from the Paisley Park line.
I carefully cut, pinned and pieced the backing for it.  I'm always nervous that I will cut it wrong.
This is the yardage that she got for the backing.  It is from the same Paisley Park line and also used in ...

Bright and Cheery from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

I finished quilting this lovely customer quilt yesterday.  It's so bright and cheery.
She hand pieced this during her downtime at work.
I believe she made this for her daughter.  It's made from lots of bandana fabric.  They really show up against the black sashing.
This quilt measures something like 74x85.  Today I will work on the binding and then HOPEFULLY piece another backing.
This quilt is backed with black fleece and quilted with the Petal Flower panto.  The quilting really shows up on the fleece.  Oh and I also used cotton batting.
Up next is a beautiful ...

Take me out to the ball game. from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was so beautiful when I got home last night, I grabbed a cool beverage and my book and retired to the gazebo. Of course, the girls were right there by my side - well when they weren't ripping around the backyard!

I managed to finish the book.  Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini. This is the longest that it's taken me to read a book in a long, long time. And I think I know why.  It's certainly NOT because I'm too busy.  No - this is a historical novel. It's not that I don ...

Lots of quilting from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

I bought this cute little fox pattern a few days ago as I need it for a customer quilt.  This is the pattern that she picked out for her soon to be born grandson. Mine will be done in oranges.  :)  Looking at the pattern directions it should go pretty fast.  I will be getting started on that in a few days.
After dealing with some minor health issues for a couple of weeks, I finally got a customer quilt loaded on the frame.  It's so bright and fun!  She also hand pieced it.  I got it loaded on the ...

Beautiful "I Spy" Quilt and Updates from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

First off, I let me show you this beautiful "I Spy" quilt that my SIL, Kellie made before I catch you up on everything else.
She made this beautiful quilt for my youngest son, Gabe.  They had a blast picking out fabrics together.
She pieced this by hand using the EPP method.
I had so much fun quilting this quilt!  I enjoyed all of the different fabrics.  It was just really fun!
For the backing she picked a beautiful shade of blue minkee.  It was so soft and I just love quilting with that stuff.  I used a panto called ...

Grandmother's Flower Garden in RED from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

I want to show you this beautiful customer quilt that I quilted.  This belongs to a friend and also a co-worker of my SIL. A couple of years ago I taught my SIL to English Paper Piece.  She instantly fell in love with it and started working on her projects at work between patients.  So by doing that her co-workers also fell in love with EPP.  This beautiful red Grandmother's Flower Garden belongs to Christy.
This is one that I would have loved to have kept!  She did an awesome job.
 I absolutely loved the fabrics.
 A pic of ...

Hexies and Quilts from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Here is my current progress on my Kindred Hexies.  I have a bunch of them prepped and I am sewing some of them together.  Sorry the pic is dark but it was late when I took this pic.
I enjoy the handwork during the evenings.
I should make more progress tomorrow (Wednesday). Hunter and I will be babysitting my little 2yr old niece, Addison.  She is so sweet and not a problem at all to watch.  I love babysitting her.  This will only be for a few hours.

Here are a couple of Antique customer quilts that I quilted a ...

Two Memory Quilts from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

A dear friend of mine contacted me several months back asking if I could make a Cross quilt out of her father's shirts that had passed away.  I've made several of these memory quilts and she had saw one and wanted one as well.

I pressed, cut the shirts and pieced this memory top of her.  Then I quilted it on the longarm.  I forgot the name of this quilting panto that I used but I love the texture that it gave the quilt.
 A close up view...
She was very pleased with the final result and asked ...

A Ton of Quilting Going On Here!!!! from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Hi All!  I'm back once again!  Hope I still have some readers out there.  I finally got the laptop fixed and I just found it really hard to type a blog post on the cell or the tablet.  So now that I have the laptop fixed I should be back in business.

Lots of quilt pics in this post!  Life has been very busy in many ways lately but I do miss blogging.  So let me start with a few customer quilts that I have quilted.  I think these were in March.

This first one was a beautiful queen ...
