Feeling Blue from Sew Preeti Quilts

I am not just making quilt blocks I am making friends.

Hmm... try again
That's it!

One fine day I received an email from Gail in which she explained that she was the original designer of the block (Abigail Angel) that eventually became the International Sister Quilt Block. She appreciated the fact that I did not claim the block as my own but had shared the tutorial freely. Gail further wrote that she was pleasantly surprised with the long life and the evolution of the block.
I was thrilled to hear from Gail - the original designer!!!
I asked if ...

The Bluprint Blues from The Snarky Quilter

Recently I had my first experience with Bluprint, the new Craftsy, after succumbing to a special three month subscription offer. My rationale was I could take the bias applique tape class by Latifah Saafir I had my eye on and … Continue reading

I have been a Craftsy affiliate for some time now. I haven’t made a lot of money being an affiliate, but I liked supporting the platform. I haven’t yet made up my mind about Bluprint, the new Craftsy iteration. It … Continue reading

New Year means New Beginnings! from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Happy 2019 to all of my cherished readers!

When I used to have to work for others, I always despise the annual exercise where you had to list things you would Stop, Start and Continue to do.  I would always just list the items that I knew my boss wanted to hear.  Now that I am my own employer, I find this exercise to be quite helpful to organize my goals.  Of course, as my own boss, I now have the power to make it happen!

So here are just a few things in the works...

Of course, I ...

Craftsy Changes… from Seams To Be Sew

I’m still overwhelmed, and while many may have heard what Craftsy has chosen to do with there designers in the pattern area I never thought the changes would be so drastic as I found out today when 622 of my patterns were deleted. Basically, a week ago, all the designers received emails that Craftsy would be changing things, that those who were chosen were deemed a “Top Designer” and would get to stay with Craftsy. Yes, Craftsy is my main selling shop and I love selling there, but it’s not like I was making a fortune either or ...

Some Changes at Craftsy from Quilt Doodle Doodles...

Some of you may have heard that Craftsy will be making some changes. I recieved an email a couple of days ago informing me that the pattern site will be undergoing an overhaul and that my store will not be closed but they will be deleting some of my patterns. I will no longer have a say as to what will stay or go. I also loose the ability to post my patterns to the site on my own. Many designers were told their stores will be closing.... period. Many independent designers will be left with no store and no ...

Craftsy is Making Changes...And What it Means to You from Stitchin at Home

All designers who have a Craftsy pattern store, received email notification of a change in the Craftsy marketplace. I am one of the designers whose Craftsy shop will remain, however not all my patterns may remain. Only Craftsy knows what patterns will remain available after December 28, 2018. Also, I can't add any new patterns to Craftsy until sometime in 2019.

The patterns you have purchased from me will still be available in YOUR Craftsy account library after December 28, 2018. I would recommend downloading the patterns to your computer just to be safe (if you have not already ...

Craftsy Pattern Store - Download Your Pattern Library NOW. from Creatin' in the Sticks

If you haven't heard, Craftsy is changing.
Craftsy has been the host of my online store for over five years.

NBCUniversal acquired Craftsy in 2017 and has been making changes to fit its brand, Bluprint.  As a designer for Craftsy, I've known changes were coming.

This week the changes have been announced that will affect independent designers.
In an email, the company explained that some independent stores will be deleted and some will be downsized.  I was a lucky one and will still have a store.

I don't know which patterns will remain in my store ...

Burano Lace from Quilting & Learning

The lovely island of Burano
The highlight of my trip, as it relates to textiles, was the Island of Burano, in the Venetian Lagoon. Burano is renown for its lace and its colourful houses. It's a lovely island to visit, and small enough that you don't have to plan your trip.

I got to Burano on a vaporetto (water bus) from Venice. I thought of my dad all the way - he would have loved the boat trip!

Oh Scrap! : The Battle is Real from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I am really making a concerted effort to work down my scraps so that I can at least close all of the bins.  I realized this weekend that all of my design walls are filled with scrappy goodness.

All of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks are up on the design walls in my studio behind my longarm.  I will continue to work on them into 2019.  I think I need 12 more blocks for the quarter log, 13 blocks for the zig zag and who knows how many for the center garden quilt.

I love seeing all that color as ...

Knitting and Math from The Quilt Rat

I recently ordered a sweater kit from Craftsy, I have in the past, purchased several classes and was curious about the physical products they offer. There was a promotion that gave 50% off some of the kits so it was an excellent time to give it a try.

Part of that promotion provided a 1 month free trial of Bluprint..... now I must admit that having the month long access to all classes with Bluprint I am taking advantage by checking out classes I may have not done otherwise.

In one of the classes, Wear What You Knit, Perfect Sweater ...

Next, I've been watching Perspective in Landscape Drawing by Patrick Conners, one of the lessons on Craftsy's Bluprint platform. (No affiliation.) And the result is that I really want to begin a landscape quilt.

A special weekend, travel, and more from Quilting with Kimberly

The birthday

People gathered on the Santa Monica pier to watch the sunset.

Wow! The past couple of weeks have flown by! I can’t believe we’re already in mid-September with the fall season fast approaching. Since I blogged last time, I celebrated a quiet but lovely birthday with my sweetheart who treated me to a fabulous dinner out and a lovely birthday cake from a local bakery.

We dined at The Lobster right on the Santa Monica pier.

The Lobster sits at the beginning of the famed Santa Monica pier.

A trip to Ohio for a week of ...

Quilter's Meet and Greet from Sew Incredibly Crazy

Hello and Welcome to the

or you are one of my old friends,
Welcome to my blog
Sew Incredibly Crazy.
My name is Amy.

I never knew how fitting that
blog name would be when I
chose it 6 years ago.

I really love to create.
I started quilting on a whim.
I entered a contest that Moda
was having and I happened on
being in the top 10.
This jolted me into quilting.
I have never taken a quilting/sewing class
in my life unless you count 6th ...
