Christmas Quilt Tops Are Now Completed from Quilty Folk

So I feel pretty good about these two Christmas quilt tops. Yeah, yeah, the holidays are over. I get that. But in my world, finishing these two tops now means I'm that much closer to having completed Christmas quilts by next season. Yay!

Christmas Stars a completed quilt top!
This background fabric was the only red fabric that I had any serious yardage of and truly, I had my doubts about how well it would work. Normally I would choose out a cheery red for a holiday look and this is more of a tomato red with, if you ...

And The Stockings Were Hung.... from Luann's Loose Threads

A belated Merry Christmas to you.   I had planned to post this before Christmas, but time got away from me.

As you can see, the stockings weren't hung by the chimney with (or without) care.   I believe one of the last times I hung our family stockings on the fireplace, one of the filled stockings fell on our cat who loves to lay in front of the fire.  Another year I put some chocolate in the stockings.  We have a gas fireplace, so it comes on as easy as turning on a light switch.  That chocolate was pretty squishy ...

Tis The Season! from Quilty Folk

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! We have the sugar cookies and caramel corn taken care of and now, it's time to start baking the pies. Don't you just love tradition?

Making sugar cookies
All my packages have arrived except one and thankfully it was just a few stocking stuffers. Out here in rural America, the package arrival dates can be less than as promised. In whatever spare time that I could find, I've been working on the Christmas Stars quilt.

It is Christmas eve already!

Why did it seem like years between Christmas days when i was going to school, now it seems that they come around two or three times a year!

Still, one more sleep … and I can promise there will be more Christmas quilt designs.

Less Logs for Christmas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 from Virtual Quilter

A little bit dusty looking, which represents the area we live in, Harvest has just finished and grain dust has settled on everything, including the wallhangings stored behind the sewing room door!

This would sit well alongside the real ones at the moment!

I didn’t like this one until I added that green line joining the corner fans.

Love the one above!

Another interesting one!

More Log Cabin designs soon!

I have family visiting so am making this short and sweet.
Here is a fun primitive quilt that isn't necessarily Christmas, but I do display it during winter.

The other night I was out when our simple lights came on.

Star Bright Christmas Quilt Finish from Dizzy Quilts

For some strange reason, the small Christmas quilt I made a few years ago and which we have always used as a tree skirt was not in our Christmas box when I took it upstairs this year. So we decorated the tree at the beginning of December, but I had to put a small "Christmasy" quilt under it this year. Until now!

I took a few days off after a work trip to Denver this month and decided to make another quilt for the tree. I really wanted to use a pattern and fabric I already had so went searching ...

A Holly Christmas 1, 2 from Virtual Quilter

New blocks, new project file … especially for Christmas!

Holly is something which has not been introduced to many plantings of any sort in Australia, so most of us rely on artificial varieties as part of our Christmas decorations.

It must be Christmas already.

I feel like a kid with a new toy … really a virtual quilter with a new set of blocks to play with, and expand into a bigger collection than it already is!

It is unlikely I will need to make another Christmas quilt in the near future, but if, or when, I do I will have lots ...

Christmas Patch Play 3, 4 from Virtual Quilter

It is so easy to convert any Electric Quilt project file to suit any occasion, and this one became a great convert to Christmas from the original colours.

The first design is my favourite for today, and I might try to find some time to start a new project file over the next few days … I have drawn some new blocks which would look great in similar designs to these.

Needing a Creative Lift from Quilty Folk

This past weekend was a rare, quiet pocket of time for us. I took full advantage and was able to get this #AHIQFlowers challenge quilt up on the wall. If you look closely, it's obvious that the left side is mostly sewn together while the right side is still in a state of flux. And yes, some of it is pinned well above the design wall. We do what we have to do, don't we?

I hope you will join in the Holiday Favorite blog hop! A few of my favorite bloggers are joining!! The list and links are at the bottom of this post.

There are many things to like about the holidays! I love traditions, Christmas tv shows, family get togethers, the smell of pine.
When it comes to decorating I use several quilts and will show you a few from our main level of our house.
I seem to have lots of layers this year. The Let it Snow quilt is designed by County Threads and is called Wear Warm Clothes. (I ...

Quilting Pattern – The Merry Stars Quilt from Craft Gossip

This Merry Stars quilting project is actually created with Christmas prints. Obviously, if you were to complete this quilt in time for this Christmas you will need to work hard and fast, BUT I thought I would feature it because in the next few weeks do you know what goes on sale? YEP! all the Christmas print fabric. So stuck up, print off the pattern and create yourself a little DIY Quilt Kit ready for Christmas in July next year or drag it out sometime in October 2020. You can see the full tutorial here.

Christmas Logs 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 from Virtual Quilter

I am not trying to confuse those of you who look for a five minute retreat from the real world in the middle of the week. However, I was dazed and confused after last weekend’s invasion by family and friends, and though it was planned as a one day event, a few people stayed longer, or came back for a second helping, some just arrived very late!

As a result of the chaos it was Thursday before I realized the weekend was over, so decided that this month the mid week retreat would happen on the weekends … and so ...
