A stack o’ Christmas Ideas: Colour & Inspiration Tuesday from Clever Chameleon

Merry Christmas colour board at Clever Chameleon

Done, done and done! Lots of small finishes in this Round-Up of a Tuesday

I have been knocking off lots of little half-done sewing projects lately. A clearing of the queue, both physically and mentally.

Most of these finishes haven’t made it to the blog, although if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen some flash past you in your feed. So now it’s time to clear the decks. I get a stack of things of my chest, outta my head and into my journal-blog record. You get a post full of small projects that you ...

Precut Friendly Tree Skirt Pattern from Fat Quarter Shop's Jolly Jabber

Dress your tree up right this Christmas! The newest tree skirt pattern, the Charm Pack Tree Skirt, is sure to make a statement around your tree this holiday season! This quilted tree skirt made with precuts is a fun and satisfying project using just two packs of 5″ squares and some coordinating fabric. With all straight seams, it’s easy to sew and takes less fabric than a round tree skirt.
The holiday collection we chose for our tree skirt has a cool retro vibe to it. It’s called Sweet Christmas by Urban Chiks for Moda Fabrics. The collection ...

The First Finish of 2019 from The Cozy Quilter

Technically, this finish should have been done in 2018...but it took a little longer than I thought it would to complete this project.  I also did not have a pattern, just an idea in my head that I wanted to try, which lengthened the amount to time I spent working on it.

My friend, Cathy, and her husband are avid campers so I decided to make a camper themed sewing machine cover for her for Christmas.  I finished off the last of the hand stitching today and wrapped it up for delivery this evening...at least she received it ...

Frank is FINISHED! from The Cozy Quilter

Today is the last Slow Sunday Stitching day of 2018.  In April, I started a counted cross stitch project,  Fountain Glass, a stained glass window designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.  This past week, I finished the last few silver outlining stitches and this picture is done!

This project represents a lot of time spent stitching in the car, in the gazebo and on the couch.

I now have three counted cross stitch pictures finished and waiting for framing.  (two FLW windows and the snowmen) I will make getting these framed and up on the wall a priority in the new ...

It's A Wrap from From the Strawberry Patch...

... and just like that, another Christmas is history. 2019 is looming just around the corner. I can finally post about a few things that I have been stitching. Using this pattern by Atkinson Designs I managed to make up quite a few batches of these zippered pouches that will be good for toting all sorts of goodies and whatnots. For the most part, I constructed them in sets of threes to give as

Two Trees from The Cozy Quilter

I must start off by saying I do not usually make the same quilt twice, but in this case, I made an exception.  You may recall a blogpost a few weeks ago about the London Friendship Guild sewing day at which I pieced this Bountiful Boughs wallhanging for myself.  I have taken two weeks off work for Christmas and I am spending much of my time in the sewing room, finishing off a few gifts and my Christmas tree wall hanging.

I used a wavy stitch and my walking foot to quilt this project. The thread is a light green ...

Christmas Sewing from The Cozy Quilter

This hexagonal table topper is a Christmas gift for my MIL.  The pattern is called "Picnic" by Jaybird Quilts. My MIL has a small round table in her kitchen and this is the perfect size for it.  This topper looks a little more wintery than the flowery one she has there currently!  She loves to put the quilted gifts I have made for her out each season.  Her Christmas runner from a couple of years ago is currently on her dining room table.  (if you know my MIL, please do not spill the beans!)

I just finished hand stitching the ...

Post Christmas Post from Pibble Pulling Threads

This is a re-post from geekquilter.com  Please visit there for other awesome blog posts and products!

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this, but my husband is AWESOME!  First off, if you’re wondering, we have decided to postpone our trip to the Finger Lakes, as it is CRAZY cold and snowy here.  We figured we would be miserable going in and out of the cold and probably would have just laid around in the hotel.  Staying home, we could do some activities (listen to records for him, sew for me!) that we have precious little time ...

Wool embroidered lids from Pieced Brain

Christmas is just around the corner and I needed two more gifts. I saw these pincushion jar lids and could not resist them! The embroidery is simple - I am not too good at it yet but I think they turned out lovely!

Instead of using wool as a background as the pattern suggested, I used flannel so it would not be too difficult to close the lid once the work was done. Still, the lid does not close all the way but you can turn it once and keep treats safely inside.

This is the second one I made varying ...

Gift ideas to make and give from your sewing room from The Crafty Quilter

We are in countdown mode to Christmas!  This seems like the perfect time to share my list of gift ideas to make and give from your sewing room!

My sewing room has been off limits as my granddaughter, Amelia, has been sleeping and napping there for the past week.  (Trust me, I’m not complaining.)  So instead of a new project to share, I thought I would give you some gift ideas to start mulling over.  Many most of these are my own tutorials from years past.  I’ve included a few from other bloggers, too.  Of course there are ...

Spelling It Out! from From the Strawberry Patch...

There were some questions after yesterday's blog post about the name ornaments that the grandchildren made while they were visiting over Thanksgiving; I decided to show you through a series of photos here today how they were constructed, there were a few errors made along the way (mine) as I developed a prototype for this fun Christmas craft. First, you will need to gather the following
